Last night while driving down the highway I had an awful scraping sound. Pulled over and saw the underside of the car was pulled back and dragging the road. Took it in today and they said they bent it back up, replaced the pins, and used zip ties. Didn't show me what it looked like. I can't imagine it's back to normal. They told me during my next oil change they could replace it for $50 with no labor cost since it needs to be removed to replace the oil anyway.

looks like one of the long side covers? most likely one of the bolts was left out where the main front plastic splash panel attaches underneath, and air got under it peeling it back. If you had front pipe or engine mount installed then whoever did the work is most likely to blame. I have seen these bolts missing or broken and brand new untouched cars as well. This panel also does not need to be removed for an oil change. No plastic panel do, only the metal panel

So... this turned into something preposterously silly. I originally agreed to have the wheel repaired by Southpoint so long as I could not tell there was any damage. But the dealership kept being unable to coordinate the repair with their outsourced repairwoman. Then I got a survey, and you better believe I laid into them. Subsequently, they agreed to replace the damaged rim with a brand new OEM rim. Great, I think. Finally they will take this seriously. Wait for it...

They scratched the new rim upon installation. It's only minor damage compared to their initial screw-up, but it is still a good 1.0"-1.5" scratch along the outer edge of the rim (in the exact same place as many of their initial scrapes and scratches). They have shown themselves unable to handle the simple task of removing a rim from a Type R. I can't even fathom taking the car and letting them have it ever again as I fear them irreparably damaging the vehicle further in some way.

How is a modern Honda dealership not capable of taking off a Type R rim without damaging it?!?

Oh, and did I mention they drove the car for 5 miles the first time but didn't log it in their system? They gave me my vehicle back the first time and said the mileage did not change when they had driven it for 5 miles. 5 miles that, upon me calling them out on the difference, they later said was "necessary" to reset the TPMS system (which we all know does not require any mileage driven to recalibrate). What a horrible service unit they run.
Sorry to hear about your experience. Just for comparison, I had Autopark mount tires to my brand new aftermarket wheels and they actually took pictures of the wheels with masking tape all around the lips to ensure that they got back to me exactly as I gave to them. Probably also to protect themselves for any additional costs due to damage, but still going above to make it a good experience. I know you wanted to give them a chance to resolve the problem and I'm sure you won't use them again, but seriously call Nick at Autopark & tell him that I referred you because of their kick-ass service.

When I went to install the wheels, I noticed that one of the tire had a screw in it. Took it to Blacks Tire around the block to plug, forgetting they had to de-mount the tire to plug and they gouged it when they re-mounted the tire. <sigh> ĂŤ told Autopark & they said "Why didn't you bring it to us!?" Didn't realize they plug tires too. Oh well.

No, it is the metal cover that needs to be removed to do the oil change. But the car hadn't even had its first oil change yet. Bone stock.

Getting ready for a little delivery tomorrow, so trying out a little accenting with white/light gray CF-look 3M striping...

And apparently a 20' roll is not even close to enough for the whole car. I had to order a second roll.

Edit - and yes, my car is filthy. Been raining a ton here lately, but it's getting nicer now.

Installed sequential brake light/turn signals by replacing the OE reflector in the honeycomb bumper. Originally saw this on a FB group and knew I wanted to do the same. I really like it though it was sort of a PITA to configure

Damnit, I need this in my life. Mind posting some links for details and purchase?

I will absolutely call AutoPark from here on out. I only went back to SouthPoint because they offered a free new rim to replace the damage they caused. It's too bad that Honda has dealerships out there that are incapable of handling minor work on our vehicles even 2 years after it was released.
