Could you tell me what features you have available to use? I'm interested in picking up a FlashPro Race, but I feel like Hondata really only cares about the Si. Just curious as to what kind of stuff I'd be able to play around with on my 2019 CVT Sport Hatch.

P.S.
I'm not interested in which tuner you think is better. I have a KTuner V2 and I love it. I want to try out Hondata to have a point of comparison / for science. If I'm going to talk about one or the other I feel as though I should be experienced with both.

go to www.hondata.com and download the software and check it out yourself
So are the features not ECU and model specific? Do they just automatically have full support for all the new 2019 ECUs? Would they need to know what model I even have, or are their features just blanket, same for every car? I've heard that support for non-Si models, particularly CVT, is lackluster, is that not true? Should I really have to download and install a software on my computer for a tuner I don't currently own or use just to answer these questions when anyone that actually uses FlashPro could answer them fairly easily?

I'm aware that I could do that. Information on FlashPro is significantly more vague and sparse than KTuner. Really I could just buy the thing and find out for sure. But I would hope that this forum is full of helpful members willing to share their experiences so we don't have to just buy things on the blind to find out whether they may or may not suit our needs.

KTuner has a massive amount of user controllable features that are modified easily. While I am waiting on full support for my ECU, it's still an excellent tool. I just want to make sure I'd be getting that same customization (or more, who knows) with FlashPro Race on my specific car.

But anyways, thanks for your help.

One thing that is accessible on Hondata and not Ktuner is the torque limit table. That was even an option on my CARB version.

As far as base tunes, they have a somewhat different feel. I find KTuner to be very linear whereas my Hondata came into it's own after 3500 rpm. Overall, I prefer KTuner but I did like the high speed feel a bit better with Hondata.

As far as compatibility, there's an ECU compatibility checker on the Flashpro homepage:

I can always count on you @gtman.

I've been intrigued by Hondata lately. Unfortunately, it seems I have the same gripes, albeit slight, as you with KTuner recently. I absolutely love it, but I want to see if FlashPro has a little more balls once it gets moving. I am still waiting on the full support from KTuner, so that remains to be seen for me, and I certainly don't want to get rid of it, but it'd be interesting to have a genuine point of comparison. And from what I hear, what FlashPro lacks in the low end, it makes up for in high end power. KTuner I almost feel like has been the other way around. Lots of punchy low end, not much high end yet.

Maybe the TSP CVT tune will completely change that.

That's exactly my one disappointment with KTuner after having used Hondata. I was used to an almost stock feel with Hondata at low rpm and then all of the sudden it was a beast after 3500. Quite a rush actually. Switching to Ktuner, it felt better and more potent at lower rpm but the smooth power curve gives less of a sensation of speed/acceleration at high rpm. For lack of better words, it feels like it fizzles out on the top end.

In talking to JR, that's what they were going for... smooth power. And I guess for most people that works. Don't get me wrong. KTuner is an amazing product with an abundance of user tweaks. I love it.

Like you though, I'm anxiously awaiting the TSP CVT tune because if it's similar to the Si tune, beast mode will be back at high rpm.

Also keep in mind, the newer versions of the Hondata Race software now have throttle and turbo response mods (tweaks) that weren't available to me with my CARB version.

This is what interests me. I feel as though much of the low end power we experience with KTuner is thanks largely to the improved throttle and turbo response that KTuner does quite well. The bummer is that that's about it. It comes on hard and fizzles out it seems. I've read through your threads and I was discouraged from FlashPro because of the lack of these adjustments specifically, but if those features exist now I think I'll definitely have to track down a FlashPro Race for my car.

If the TSP tune for CVT comes out before I can find one though, I may change my tune. (Unintentional pun, but now intended lol)

Keep in mind, we've been testing the TSP1 for use on the KTuner platform alone as of right now.

Hondata needs to change a few things before I even consider porting it over for use on that system, especially on a CVT.

Could you elaborate on that a little? What is it about Hondata that makes you not want to port the TSP1 tune to FlashPro as well as KTuner?

Background torque limits, mostly.

So beyond a certain point, the torque limits are... for lack of a better word, limiting? As in you won't be able to extract the necessary power you hope to achieve with the TSP1 tune for CVT? If I understand what you're getting at.
