An old French proverb: It doesn't matter what the bottle is as long as you get drunk.( Musset )
This applies to the SI: no matter what the cost, you have so much fun driving a SI.

I leased mine in Illinois a month ago. Honda had zero down leases for the Civic Sport 2.0 but I had the dealer upgrade me to the Si sedan but under the same program. I was returning a 2016 Accord Sport lease, so I was a repeat customer.

My lease payment was $292 a month with zero down, sign and drive, just first month's payment at signing. I opted to pay $10 more a month to cover the oil changes and tire rotations every 7500 miles. So, I pay $303 a month all said and done.

Gas, so far, about $70-$80 a month.

I have great insurance through Progressive, $100 deductibles on comp/collision, $100K/$300K limits, rental reimbursement and medical payment coverage for $83 a month. My old company, Allstate, wanted $109 a month for state min coverage. So I dumped them.

I think I got a great deal, earlier in May, I went in for a quote and they quoted me $362 for the lease and full MSRP as the sale price. Bawlked at that and a month later they dropped the sales price to $21,xxx. 63% residual and .00117 MF.

Insurance is 180
Gas is about 300 a month ( 1000 miles a week)
Upgrades maybe 100 a month
Car wash 20 a month

Ugh...

Unless you have a job paying you 5G+ per month your nuts,

Your paying almost 10 grand a year to drive a car that isn't even your own car, and won't have anything to show for it when all is said and done,

Total waste of money,

But I'm sure it's great to show off in front of the girls
I do have a job paying 5G+ a month haha. And I can always buy the car at the end of the lease which may be an option :) But you are right, its pretty awesome to drive in front of the girls :p:D Get you a girl who appreciates a civic!

Payments are a little under 400 for 60 months. Insurance for 4 vehicles is a little under $100/month and I fill it up every 2-3 weeks so... $500-ish? Oil change a couple times a year for $25. Cabin filter less than $10 a year. Bought a PRL stage 1, so for about the cost of ~3-4 aftermarket papers, I'll have this one for the life of the car. Paid about $40 with shipping to do the MTF. That's... yeah... that's about it. It's a pretty cheap car to own/operate. I figure tires at the ~3 year ~30k point since I get the OEM summers.

Once it's paid off... the oldest will be 12 and it will likely get passed down as a first car at around ~10 years of age so long as it doesn't give me major problems. By that time, the Odyssey will be approaching it's 2nd timing belt change at ~200k miles and it'll probably be time to unload it and buy/pay off 2 more vehicles before they all hit their college years.

I'll probably get the lady something nice and new and go back to getting older, used cars for myself and swap more frequently. The last 2 Civics have sort of been impulse buys. While I got a good deal and a good trade for the '15... and we like this car, I think I'm done buying newer cars for myself (shrug). Buying a new car and keeping it long-term doesn't scratch my car itch.

Mine is not an SI since it is not available here, but it's virtually identical as far as running costs, being a 1.5t 6 speed.
Monthly:
Car payment: $0
Insurance: $33, (20 years of driving without accidents)
Gas: $70 ( but i get reimbursed by my company)
Maint(est): $25
Upgrades(est): $ 10
Car washes: $0 ish (i wash by myself)
Parking: $100 at company, but they pay for me. free at home
Total per month from my pocket: $ 68

Actually all the manteinance for the past year was covered by Honda under the oil dilution recall, so i actually spent around 43 $/ month in the last 12 months. In 3 years I actually paid only once the full amount for service, they always give some kind of discount for the next oil change.
it's cheaper than bus, i love this car!!

Lease: $315/month w 1500 out of pocket
Insurance: $342/month
Gas: 90-120 a month
Maintenance: maybe $10 a month

Lease payment is a little high due to some neg equity from the trade. Just part of trading cars so often. Insurance is high due to my superstar 19 year old that had 2 major at fault accidents and drives a ‘18 Elantra. Normally, it be like $55 a month for me. My youngest is on deck to get her license in a couple months...little stressful lol...

I'm not looking forward to some aspect of those years... and that's probably the biggest one. I know how *I* was at 16-18 (shudder).

Payment: $680 per month (36 months at .09%)
Insurance: $52 per month
Gas: $30 per month
Mods: $0 (have Ktuner, exhaust, and intake already)

At current market rates, it makes more sense for me to have a lien then pay cash for the car. No penalty CD’s are at 2.9% and even stock market averages are at 6% for 2019.

I think the Si is a great deal. I was going to buy something more expensive like a new 4Runner, but I'm more a car driver. I have a 2005 EX that has been very good to me, so Honda Civic was a my choice. I still may get a 4Runner used. The CTR was cool, but with dealer attitudes, mark up and 19" rims in MI, I decided against it.

Yeah, I had several accidents at that age but mine involved curves and fixed objects off the sides of the road. Luckily, no one ever got hurt. NC has surcharge for your first 3 years of driving and it’s pretty high. But you know, young kids make mistakes. You just prayer they always where their seatbelt and nothing really terrible happens.

$450 for 72 months( I pay $500 still since that was before refinance) should be able to drop my monthly after getting my useless $3500 Honda care from the dealer refunded soon. God damn out of state bank won’t email documents. Only agrees to mail or fax(who the fuck uses fax?)
$180 insurance
$25-35 of gas every 2-4 days(Uber)
$270 for muffler delete
