I installed an FX350 some time ago, and am still havings some issues with it. Clutch pedal was adjusted (raised) 3 days after installed, as it was too close to floor, and brake hold wouldnt release automatically on take off. Still...

1. Transmission doesn't go into 1st or reverse on cold start. Have to go to 3rd first.
2. When upshifting, there's about a 1 second delay before i can put it in gear, unlesss revs are high.
3. When downshifting, trasnmission resists and shudders, like the clutch is not fully disengaged - Have torev-match pretty aggressively.
4. I have TSP stage 1 tune, and NLS doesn't work - like the ECU doesn't even know the pedal is depressed.

Is all this normal, or any suggestions?

yes, it shouldnt be anywhere near the floor
That's the thing. It's currently higher then then brake pedal. Close to where it was stock.
Brake hold and ebrake also release well.

you need to do more than just adjust the pedal height you need to adjust the master cylinder road. I have the FX350 clutch and basically need to max out the rod to get in gear. Once you adjust the rod you'll want to adjust the pedal stop for the height to increase or decrease free play. I have about a 1\4 in of free play in the pedal and it engages half way in the travel. It takes a bit of playing around with to get it right.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Update. So I readjusted the clutch pedal and had the same issue.

Bled clutch line, and it improved a bit.

Also, push clutch in and attempt shift in gear and there's a temporary lockout. If I continue holding the clutch, shift to neutral then back into gear.... smooth!

Shifting to all other gears, while in motion, there's temporary delay/lockout. If I double clutch... smooth!

:dunno:

You might need to bleed it some more. Open bleed, push pedal, hold pedal down. Close bleed, pull pedal up. Repeat

To lower the engagement point would you turn the rod to the left so less threads are shown on the right side of the rod where the 12mm nut is? Then you would thread in the 17mm bolt until it contact with the rod?

did you use the clutch alignment tool to install the clutch? I don't think fluids have anything to do with not being able to go into gear? i may be wrong, I don't know much ha. I will say tho, I installed the clutch wrong the first time & I wasn't able to go into any gear until i re installed it the second time.

It’s because you have to adjust the pedal and rod
