For the Sequence exhaust owners... does this YouTube video do it justice?

Did you install it yourself or take it somewhere?

If DIY, do you recall how much time it took?

If took somewhere, may I ask approx how much it cost to install?

I’m contemplating picking up an EZ Car Lift.. but I don’t have much free time these days with work, wife and kids :(

If you go somewhere to get it done should take like 30-40 minutes. So fast and easy cause you don’t have to take much stuff off and your not wrangling with a front pipe.

DIY will take longer cause the stock exhaust is huge and it’s always a pain to do anything without room or leverage.

video is good representation for when the valve is open under boost.
my friend @RedFK8 and i installed the exhaust in a few hours which included prl front pipe (and other mods).
not sure about price but one should call around for an estimate.

per @boosted180sx, i concur you will need to provide the following:
1. 3/16" Vacuum Tee
2. clamps or zip ties to tie hose to the Tee so the vacuum hose doesn't pop off possibly causing a vacuum leak
3. zipties to route the vacuum hose from rear to the front of the car
4. 3x 30mm M12 x 1.25 bolts after knocking off the studs off the front pipe if your using OEM front pipe (25mm might work)
5. 3 bolt gasket for the front pipe to the exhaust connection

i used my ezcarlift for the exhaust but purchased it 6 years ago to work on my03, our dailys and s2ki/scca tech days at my house.
i usually work on the cars the alone so i wanted a non-hydraulic, mechanical lift for peace of mind. gl!

Sound wise, I believe that car has a catless so it is a little more raspy than how mine sounds. Not sure what is the rattling also because mine doesn't do that. Maybe it's the camera.
It is how it feels in the change of note when the valves do open though.

With the stock dp and fp i am using, there is absolutely no rasp. I installed it myself. It was rather easy aside from the front pipe studs. If i knew everything, i could've probably done everything in a few hours.

A few tips:

make sure you slide the two pipes together before installing on the car.(don't bolt it at this time because you want to be able to adjust it). Don't be like me and install the smaller pipe onto the front pipe first because it makes it a MAJOR pain to put it on the exhaust hanger. I wasted a lot of time doing that too cause i didn't want to remove the shorter pipe.

Also maybe i had to knock the studs out of the front pipe because the gasket i used was thick. Maybe if it was a thinner gasket it would've worked? Not sure. Or maybe they didn't use any gaskets at all cause it doesn't come with one.
I reused the gasket that came with my greddy exhaust. The stock one isn't reusable.

Everything would be easier if i did a front pipe at the same time. I just didn't want to add one cause i wasn't sure how loud the car would be at the moment i installed it.
I haven't added a front pipe yet cause i'm still satisfied with how it sounds and although it probably won't be too big of a sound increase, i'm not sure just how much more volume it would add. I may add one at a later date once I run out of things to buy for the car and have an extra 300-400 lol.

As for vacuum routing, I just removed some covers underneath and ran it along the brake lines towards the front.

That above basically should be it.

Just take your time and adjust everything before you tighten the clamps. You want the exhaust to be in the center of the factory cutout. I feel like mines like 95% center lol.

Here I am reading this and I don’t remember seeing any OEM gaskets on my stock exhaust ... Have changed out my exhaust so many times, right now I’m running the RV6 front pipe and using gaskets they provided on both sides. I’m pretty sure I’d have seen them and pry’d them off - but honestly I don’t remember seeing any oem gaskets. Am I crazy?

it may be stuck on your stock exhaust. It uses those donut looking gaskets.

Oem front pipe pic, that connects to the down pipe flange:

Think that’s it there. Super flat though.

On the other exhaust side there was nothing there, so probably still on the exhaust. :) but that’s easy to check.

Hello all,

Does anyone have suggestions for location placement for the Vacuum Tee? Can hardly wait to have this operational ;)

Thanks
Tom

Much appreciated @boosted180sx

Thank you sir for the requested info. Lifesaver!

Wondering if my 14 and 11 y.o. sons will notice the difference if I don’t let them know it’s installed lol.

Probably just a few minutes away from testing this out.

@tempest:

Your work is amazing, as others have stated. I took my car to a shop in Placentia, CA who specializes in custom exhaust work. After the install, the shop owner said if he had known it was a Titanium exhaust beforehand...he would not have accepted the job. If anything didn’t fit right, they weren’t set up to adjust/weld Titanium.

He said he was crossing his fingers during the install.

No worries..Exhaust fit absolutely perfect. Looks beautiful from the undercarriage. The shop owner was impressed.

Thanks Joe!

responded to your PM buddy.

I hope you like it as much as i do.
