Anyone know what Honda's policy is regarding tinting the windows on a leased car?
Will I need to remove it before turning in or will I be charged for "damage"?

The last car I leased was through Ford, and they accepted tinted windows as long as the film was intact (no peeling, bubbling, scratches, etc.). I had 20% film on the drivers and passengers door to match the tint on the rear doors and windows and was able to turn it in as it was without additional charges.

Read the letter of the contract first. That is the legal requirement. If you don't adhere to it, you are at the mercy of the person dealing with the turn in. More likely as long as its legal for the state you are in, and it is in very good condition, it will likely be overlooked. Also more likely to be overlooked if you are rolling into another Honda lease. Although if someone is being bitchy and needs to make more money for the company, they might be less inclined to allow it.

Honda/Acura uses a third party inspection company, who generally also do inspections for several other manufacturers, so they're not really looking to make money for Honda or whoever. The turn in ends up being a non-event, unless you damaged the car between the time the car was inspected, and the actual day it is turned in. You can schedule the inspection several weeks prior to the turn in date if you like as well.

Acura allowed a $750 wear and tear allowance, and I believe with Honda it is $500. Also iirc, they double those values if you're rolling into a new Honda/Acura lease or purchase, as well as waive the $350 disposition fee.

I can confirm that I returned an Acura that was tinted, darker than the state permits as well, and nobody said a word.

@racer is correct. That said, so long as the tint job is good they'll more than likely won't say anything since that's a value-added accessory to the car and can be a selling point when they put it back on the used market. But, yeah, you could also just take off the tint before turning in the car. PITB but I've done it, nbd.
