HI, i noticed you said that the CVT whining noise went away after the oil change. Did you use standard Honda fluid?
Hello sorry for the late reply it's been busy. I used the Honda HCF2 Fluid, bought it from the dealer.

Quick Update, HIT 55,000 Miles on my 2017 CVT Hatchback Sport. Still running strong, I have the ethanol compensation higher than the hondata values by a little and the torque limits as well, boost is at 23 psi MAX. Maintenance has been with synthetic oil and i've only done one CVT fluid flush. I decided I would share the tune I have been running for over a year. I usually push my car hard everyday but not 100% of the time. If you decide to use what I am running I am not at fault for any damage. When accelerating hard I usually only give 80% throttle then slowly get to 100% throttle. Also I do have the modifications in the Mods tab for throttle response. Also I keep ethanol content at 50% to 70%. Since timing is high it will knock occasionally with anything less than 40% So this tune is only for 45%-75%.

Hey brotha, you know the ethanol gauge that comes with the Siri Moto flex fuel kit. How hard was it to install the gauge? I have my PRL flex fuel kit but I have no way of reading my ethanol content unless I open ktuner with my laptop because I have the v1. I was thinking about installing this gauge and from the pictures, it looks like the same company and gauge that comes with the Siri Moto flex fuel kit.

Hey man, well the gauge was really easy to install. I guess the hardest part was running the wire through the firewall but since I already had already cut through the rubber due to an aftermarket stereo system I just fed it through that section. I have it installed right under my dash near the hood latch but more up. I can show you pictures of my setup tomorrow if you like.

Is the gauge that comes with the kit made from innovative Motorsport??

Thank you for the updates. They are informative. I have a CVT as well but no flex fuel in my area. Will you be taking your car to a dragstrip to get any numbers? Really interested in gauging how much power you are making (by means of your trap speed in the 1/4 mile).

I will be racing my CVT this year. I haven't taken it to the track at all last year since I had nothing interesting to test out. Thanks!

Is your car still running
Yes of course! It is still running strong, still running over 50%e. If I had any complaints I would just be gas milage which is expected. Only at 55k miles and will probably trade up within 75k.

So I haven't taken it to a drag strip and the only reason is time and the fact that with the CVT running off the line will never be quick because it's just a slow transmission to get going. It isn't till after a second and half that all the power really comes. For the most part I really only drive the car hard on the freeway and backroads. If I had to estimate I would say probably hitting 14s to high 13s. Definitely a whole different car and very easy to hit passed 120 on the custom tune I'm running. Also in my city the elevation is 4000+ ft which also affects the performance. Let me know if you ever run on a strip!:)

Thanks for your quick response. Don't underestimate your CVT off the line. There was a long thread on this a while back. Look at my timeslip in my sig. My 60ft time (And 60ft times in general) are better than most of the Type R's and Si's off the line on street tires (From looking in the 1/4 mile threads). With our modifications, key is getting just enough power to the wheels to prevent tire slip but enough to accelerate as quickly as possible. I have smaller diameter and lighter wheels/tires than stock. This is how I was able to achieve this.

Looking forward to reading more about your setup. I love reading about people's experiences with their CVTs and modifying.

Just wanting to share my experience with my Tuned 2017 Civic hatchback sport CVT for those interested in modding the CVT.

Today I hit 40,000 miles on my civic! About 25,000 miles running a
-Mishimoto Cold Air Intake
-Hondata +6 psi with boost tables and torque limit slightly increased
-Sirimoto Flex Fuel - here in my city a full tank of e85 will run about 65% ethanol according to my gauge.
-Muffler Delete

I push my car hard everyday and I drive about 70mi/day, I just have an aggressive driving style. Top speed hit 142mph. Gas mileage has gone down from 348 mi/tank to 302 mi/tank but with a huge difference in performance at an altitude of 4000 above sea level. With these mods it's a whole new car! I have worried about reliability with my warranty ending at 60,000 miles. The only problem I have ran into was the transmission losing slight power when accelerating hard above 40mph when I hit about 39,000 miles and a whine which Honda told me was normal. I self changed the CVT Fluid oil last week and the car is back to normal accelerating like new with no whining sound.

I've done a couple races, to give you an idea racing a Ecoboost mustang I ended up about a car and half ahead as we stopped hitting 130. From a line an Ecoboost mustang will pass me as I slowly catch up. Not bad for an Econo Car! lol.

Just wanted to share my experience driving my CVT. If you have any questions please let me know!

This gives me some hope that I can begin modifying for performance without too much worry of F**king my transmission up. I am not looking to go Flex kit as it is nearly impossible if at all possible to find up here. I am looking for CAI and upgrade IC probably go Mishimoto for both and Hondata of course. I want more go but not tracking and not racing just like the feeling of acceleration with less lag and better throttle response. Thank you for your post on the subject as I am sure many CVT owners are curious as to what others are experiencing especially with so many unknowns on performance modding these CVT's.

i have been holding off on upgrades (turbo, CAI, downpipe)for a while because i have yet hear anything concrete about the good ole #'s for the CVT. Only have the ktuner flash. I am steering toward the prl flexfuel when they release to scratch the itch. So your telling me technically this makes 300hp??
No, not near 300...
The Mustang EcoB is a good 650lbs heavier. It also depends on the Fuel and passenger weight that provides a full weight delta. So, Civic at 230hp is = to the Mustang EcoB. But, even then it still takes more power to move (even in momentum).
