Thank you to Dane and Andrew for assisting with this first ever install and providing all necessary pictures.

All other models skip steps 6-10
(Hatchbacks follow all steps including Step 6-10)

Step 1:
To begin, remove the bumper and skid plate for easy access. Cut the pump plug from the harness and solder 90 inches of the 18 gauge wire to the wires connected to the harness.

Step 2:
After putting a sleeve on the wires for added protection, feed the wires through the crash bar as shown below.

Step 3:
After feeding the wires through the crash bar, take the pump plug from the harness and solder to the wires on the other side where the American washer fluid bottle will be placed as seen in picture.

Step 4:
To ensure minimal movement of the wires use two zip ties to secure the wires to the crash bar. (Please Note: The Vehicle will no longer have use of the washer fluid level sensor as the US version does not have that option.) Cover the level sensor with electrical tape and place into the side of the crash bar to secure with one of the zip ties.

Step 5:
Remove the Canadian washer fluid bottle if you haven't already. Remove the pump from the Canadian washer fluid bottle and put into the slot on the US washer fluid bottle. Then place the US washer fluid bottle into position and plug the pump in. Be sure to leave a bit of slack with the wire between the washer fluid bottle and the crash bar and zip tie the wire to the crash bar.

Step 6: *Hatchback Only*
The hatchback needs two extra hoses and the reason for this is so that the rear window washer will remain operable. Use the two hoses in the picture below for a hatchback only.

Step 7: *Hatchback Only*
Take the hose that is connected to the rear windshield washer and feed it through the two zip ties on the crash bar that we used the wires for.

Step 8: *Hatchback Only*
Use a straight male to female plug to connect the hose (76899) to continue running it through the crash bar.

Step 9: *Hatchback Only*
Once the wire is through the crash bar then use a 90 to connect hoses 76899 to 78827.

Step 10: *Hatchback Only*
The open end of the hose, was then plugged into the pump.

Once this is completed you now have flow to the rear window. Remember these steps are only for the hatch. You can skip all the these steps for the sedan and coupe.

**Sedan and Coupe Continued**

Step 11:
Once completed you can carefully remove the clips from the underside of the heat shield under the hood. These can be removed carefully simply by putting your hands behind the shield and use 2 fingers to surround the plug and gently pull away from the hood exposing the hoses under the heat shield. Once removed alter the clips involved with the hoses. All holes are pre-drilled and the clips can be relocated from one side to the other but do so with patience and be gentle to not break the clips.

Step 12:
Once relocation of clips is complete take the existing hoses and route them the same way to the passenger side, remove them from the driver side and proceed to put the hose through the fender and feed them to the bottom where the pump is to connect them to the pump where circled on the previous picture above. These are the only steps that must be done with coupes and sedans.

Step 13:
Now that the hose is connected to the pump the washer bottle can be secured to the inside of the fender using the same secure points from the Canadian bottle. Plug the washer bottle neck to the top of the bottle (use a little grease). Fill the bottle and test all hoses by turning the car to ACC and wash the windows. Use the cap from the Canadian bottle to put onto the US bottle. As long as fluid flows properly you can reapply the heat shield under the hood. Once completed continue the install of the Cobra CAI using the instruction guide provided by PRL Motorsports.

I feel like i am answering my own stupid question but I will ask it anyway. I am in US but I am 98% sure; without looking up my VIN number, that my car was MADE in Canada. That being said, I will need this kit in order to install Cobra CAI correct?

no, this is only for those who have the washer reservoir bottle on the driver's side


EDIT: do however order the stainless steel clutch cable...totally worth it.
I wound up ordering it separately after purchasing this, and it cost me more...

Well a simple install turns into a pain in the ass because of this. Might as well do the intercooler at the same time since you're already taking the bumper off. Do other CAI's have this same issue on the Canadian model?

I'm a Canadian who just had to do this install. I ordered my intake and the resivoir conversion kit from http://teknotic.com (they were great btw).

I'm not trying to shit on this post or anything because for the most part its pretty good and accurate, but I would like to give out some of the following warnings:

1. If you aren't mechanically inclined or creative/crafty, don't even bother with this install, there are some modifications you need to make as you go, and some thinking
2. I know this sounds stupid and possibly obvious, but understand that you are moving the reservoir to the passenger side of the car. I didn't realize this until I noticed that they were showing the intercooler hose in the photos. I figured I was just putting in a smaller, skinnier reservoir to allow enough room to get the cone in.
3. I only received 1 wire with my conversion kit, but the pump lead requires you to solder TWO wires: one to each lead. Thus, you WILL need to provide at least 1 wire that you feed through the crash bar (unless whoever you buy the kit from provides you both).
4. The hole in the US reservoir that the rubber grommet of which you push the pump into is too small, and you will have to widen it to fit the Canadian grommet/pump back into. I used an air grinder, wasn't too bad, just surprising.
5. The little grooves in the US reservoir that you would snap the hose into just to hold it out of the way will not be sufficient to hold the 3rd party hose provided in the kit (at least from Teknotic), so be prepared to cable manage things on your own.
6. The US reservoir will only hold about 50-60% of what the Canadian one will
7. There is NOT a low level sensor in the US reservoir, so I just zip tied it up and out of the way on the driver side. There was no warning light that came on. I checked. Even jumped the connector to try to trigger it, it did not trigger, so you're fine if you're worried about the "low level" light always being on.

All in all, the reservoir takes about 2-3x the amount of time the intake install takes. It's actually a pretty huge pain in the ass and I don't think I'd do it again. It's actually amazing how much more of a pain the Cobra install is on a Canadian model. The only pain in the ass that Americans have to suffer through is the mounting of the lower part of the intake system near the filter.

After doing the install, I can't actually figure out the reason why the reservoirs are in different locations.....The only thing I can think of is that there was more room on the driver side for it allowing a larger capacity and low-level sensor.

Intake is sick though....Was totally worth.

Now I'm having doubts on purchasing the intake now wow.....did you manage installing it perfectly tho? Did you come across any problems after the installation?
Yup I love it. no problems post install. zero. it was installed perfect. just a pain in the ass a bit in my opinion.

This summary is spot on to my experience yesterday installing the US spec washer bottle minus needing to widen the hole for the pump.

The tank move took 3 times as long as the CAI install and I totally agree, if you aren’t mechanically inclined, don’t attempt it on your own.

In the end though I am extremely happy with the intake. Just forewarning my fellow Cdns!

Has anyone tried the Canadian spec washer fluid tank from a 2.0 in the 1.5? Not all Canadian washer tanks are on the driver's side; just the turbo cars. The turbo piping probably does not allow room for the bigger tank on the passenger side but if it does, I can probably put the bigger capacity tank in without splicing anything.

We do not think the 2.0 N/A reservoirs fits onto the 1.5T, but this is not 100% confirmed. You are probably correct with the intercooler piping interfering.
