So I’ve had my CTR for almost a month and drive everyday. It seems like where the seatbelt rubs it leaves a scuff mark. Are any of you dealing with this, and if you are, is there a way to prevent it and keep the seat clean? Thanks.

buy a seat belt protector, other than that no real way to protect it on a daily.

Horsehair suede brush. Also look for some information about restoring suede.

I mean how does it even get to that point? Is there a bit of oil inside where the belt retracts back into?

I'm actually not sure. I know moisture will accelerate the "wear", but I'm not actually sure why it happens. It tends to happen more readily on surfaces that are rubbed/contacted more often. See your door handle covers and steering wheels for example. Restoring suede can be a pain in the butt if it gets bad enough.

Yeah its pretty annoying that this happens just from rubbing. I'm just going to clean it and install seat belt covers

Hm I don't have this wear and I have 17k miles. This seems to be dependent on seating position. 5'11 here.

It’s been more than a year I drive mine daily and I’ve never seen that. I did no particular treatment on my seats. Weird.

Yea im 5'8 and with my seating position the belt hovers above the seat about half an inch so no rubbing issues.
Yeah I’m 5’7 but I like to sit pretty straight up. Maybe it’s all just seating position?

I don't have the wear/marks there there but I have it on the bolsters where my jeans rubbed. I bought a pair of dream seat covers and it's the best money I've spent. Out of sight, out of mind, match the seat colours, the logo looks cool and protects of course...

Can you post photos of the seat covers installed in your car? I was debating picking up the OEM seat fabric again for when the seats undoubtedly start showing wear, but this looks like a much cheaper option that still looks good

I wonder... would something like applying scotch guard to the seat fabric help avoid these black marks?

I am 5' 6 with sit up position and have the same issue. Having shoulder pads semi helps but with problem. 1)Belt tends to be loose and not tighten as you are fasten while the pad slipped up to the rubbing area of the seat. 2) Belt doesnt retract as you unfasten, leaving it hanging loose as you exit.

Anyone have better idea? Place a small velcro pad around the affected area on the seat?

I dont think Scotch Guard will do anything to protect the suede other than Liquid repellent.
