Hey all,

Curious to see how everyone's experience with their fuel economy has been since I have been doing much better than the numbers Honda has published. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything similar to this post.

I have a 2019 Civic Hatchback LX with the 1.5l turbo motor with a 6 speed manual. According to Honda, it should get 8.0/6.2/7.2 L/100KM (City/Hwy/Comb) - works out to 29/38/33 MPG for my American friends.

My last two tanks of fuel had averages of 5.9 & 6.3 L/100KM (40/37 MPG) - and on my last highway trip after refueling I was getting 4.7 (50 MPG) !!

To be fair, I am babying it a lot. I like to see what my "high score" will be, but I was not expecting to be getting such good economy numbers.

Photo for proof! Ignore the bottom number, I suppose that was from transport.

When I would drive to work (mostly freeway) I would average about 35 MPG. Now that I started taking the train, the drive to the station is mostly city/residential so I've noticed it dropped to around 30. I'm also a very aggressive driver lol, and have 18" wheels on which means more weight to drive around. This week my average MPG is 26

My sedan 2.0 manual averages 31-32. My girlfriends hatchback 1.5 cvt averages 33-34. Both are a mix of city and highway about 50 50. So itā€™s pretty much exactly what is advertised. Happy customers lol

I've hit as low as 5.4L/100km on Highway cruising with easy throttle, even with my 21 PSI tune. That was 93 octane gas IIRC.

My long term average is around 5.9-6.1L/100km on my summer tires.

When I got 4.7 L/100KM it was all "downhill" - 410, 401, 427 to Gardiner. 5.4 is damn respectable.

Between 31-35 mpg. The 35 was once when I did mostly freeway driving for majority of the tank, and I didnā€™t push it too hard.

Btw... Iā€™m not going off the infotainment reading, Iā€™m going by how many miles I drove on the tank divided by how many gallons I used.

According to that you're paying an average of about $1.60 a gallon?!? Holy hell. Gas prices right now in Ontario are about $1.25 a litre, so like $4.80 a gallon (Canadian)

Been averaging about 30mpg. Probably 75/25 highway/city or so. The morning stop-and-go doesn't help any.

The dash says 36.3 mpg. I haven't reset it since driving off the car lot. Mostly highway, but I moved today and expect to be doing way more city now.

Cant comment on fuel economy as my car isn't even broken in yet but wow 4.7? Must be down hill with the wind lol. That's better than my rav4 hybrid.
