Looking to do this mod myself, seems like it'd be relatively straightforward.
Anyone done this and have any tips? :)

I wanted to do the same. Want to make mine white, but to get the right color might be the hard part and of coarse taking the wing off, ain't as simple as it seems, there are vids out they for the wrong removal I think I seen it, but cant remember and watching wrapping tutorials can be a big help.

Did this today, right before I applied a couple coats of ceramic on my car.

The top side was easy to do, the bottom side... not so easy. After struggling for a while, i just cut off the bottom and lined up with the spoiler seams for a clean tuck.

It looks good cant even tell it. But, I think the red on the front side would look better on the back. Cant tell if u did it in both edges from the pic. But looks great!.
Did u take the wing off? Or just wrapped it on?

I didn't take the spoiler off, kept it on. From watching videos, doing it solo it's easier to keep it on for the resistance.

The red pinstripe was an after thought, and intentional as that side wasn't tucked into a seam and i wasn't happy with my cut.

I will likely re-do the wrap (because I'm OCD), but this time:
  • Will not pre-cut what I "think" is enough wrap. Clearly to deal with the underside and corners, I need to cut to shape.
  • Will use knifeless tape
  • Will use the heat gun sparingly

planning on doing this in the next couple weeks. where would you use the knifeless tape? i was thinking of doing it one piece, but it might be hard to do..
how did you cut it where it inserts into the side fins? thanks ;>

No idea where I'd use the knifeless tape, I'm waiting for warmer weather to re-do my wrap.

I just hand cut it, and then tucked into the side fin gap, you can't see the hack job :)

ahhh sweet... i was thinking of doing that but didnt wanna cut into the paint by accident haha...

did u wrap using one piece? i was thinking fo doing it in two pieces... one to wrap all of the top then come around to the bottom and cover maybe 30% of it leaving the middle portion open. Then using a 2nd piece to cover that middle portion... not sure how it'll look... but i dont remember the last time i saw the underside of my spoiler hehe...

Also tried this, I could not wrap the bottom side of the spoiler at all. I will probably try it again and only wrap the top portion. :dunno:

One piece for the top is fine.
@kpun yes... it's a bitch. I will be re-doing mine to just cover the top and the outer edges, terminating at the bottom front and bottom rear seams.

I wanted to chime in and say that anyone really thinking about doing a full carbon spoiler should really consider just wrapping the oem like this. The look and fit will be equal if not better than many replacements out there.

I’m really interested in having the middle section of my wing wrapped in 3M CF to match the other accents on the car as well. Does anyone have an idea how much this should cost for a professional shop to do for me? I can’t imagine it will be a lot since it’s not a huge area...I may even just do the top portion and have it just come around the edges and end there.
