So I let my wife drive my car. Let me start by saying my wife is a Civic lover and drives a manual just fine. So it wasn't a "teaching her to drive a stick" situation. My wife has never been a car person or had an interest in sports cars. But she's been looking into getting a new car. When she heard that the new Civic only came in an automatic she was mad, because she only likes driving a manual. So she started looking at the Si's and wants a blue one. So I figured she should drive one first. So on to the drive.
It took her a few miles to get used to the 6 speed setup, which is a lot closer than her 5 speed. She drives an 08 sedan, so she's used to a civic. So she putt-putted around for a few miles and was driving it great. Then I told her to let the rpms go to 4k before shifting and give it about 60% throttle. That turbo spooled up and her eyes got excited as the car lunged forward. She started enjoying making the turbo spool up and keep trying to catch all the lights so she could make the car take off. And she was impressed with seeing the mpg average going up even though she was driving aggressively. She was never into cars before, but now she's really excited about getting an Si. The HP bug has bitten my wife, and I think I've made a monster. But it will be nice to have 2 Si's in the garage. My project truck occupying the extra space though is the only thing stopping her from getting one, so now she is pushing to get the truck done. I told her if she drove one she would get hooked. She said it's the first car she ever drove that makes her want to drive it for the sake of just driving it. She normally just commutes a couple miles a day and now she wants to "cruise around".

Good post ... I find the handling characteristics of the coupe in particular to be spot on. I used to own a 2008 Mazda Speed 3 ... I was running 290 plus crank HP and well over 300 Ft Pounds TQ. This honda suffers from "low T" ... I love the car in every way possible but I can tell you third gear in the Mazda was "violent" ... I had an aluminium turbo inlet pipe ... that car hissed with spool up something wicked ... but ... it certainly did NOT handle the road like the Si. In short like Scotti said to the Captin ... I need more power!

My fiance wants to drive my Si whenever she can, i have to take my old 09 civic to work some days so that she can drive my Si. she has a SUV i could drive instead of the old civic, but i hate driving automatic cars.......so i just go back into full VTEC mode on the old civic.
