so the dealership said they are not loaning our rentals for the recall work but I believe that’s covered under the Honda warranty. Anyone know if that’s true or am I out of luck?

It is usually up to the dealer sadly. Haven't had experience with Honda directly, but I know with Lexus I always had a loaner if it was in for service or warranty. But again, you're paying for it with the price of the car and services. I imagine the recall work can't take more than a few hours if it's for the AC and computer update, so I doubt they would give one for that short of a repair.

This is for Canada, but:

Does Honda provide a loaner vehicle while my vehicle is in for repairs?

If you purchased Honda Plus and the repair is covered and the actual repair time is over 5 hours you may be entitled to a Car Rental under the Honda Plus Car Rental provisions.

The warranty work doesn't take anywhere near 5 hours to complete, so I don't see you getting a loaner.

Just dropped off my 2019 Type R at the dealership today. It had thrown CEL and 4 different DTC. They said they didn't have any loaners available for me but they did hook me up with a rental. Only had to wait about 10 minutes and a guy from Enterprise showed up and took me to the actual Enterprise building where they loaned me a pretty nice car (2019 Chevy Equinox) for completely free. All I had to do was put my credit card down and a $25 hold is placed for incidentals. The charge will drop off after a week or so much like hotels do.

Depends on the dealer, you could make the case that it's a recall so its Hondas fault you're there in the first place. Tell them your busy and you need a vehicle to function. If they say no though, I dont think theres much you can do.

Update: I called another dealership and they agreed to give me a loaner! So if they refuse to give a loaner just call another dealer and explain the situation. They should try to work with you. Btw I got the 2019 hybrid insight and I loved it! Accord body with interior but hybrid engine. It was amazing to drive. I don’t like how little ev it uses though. When accelerating the Motor will kick in really early and the acceleration was abysmal. But ride quality was fantastic.

Totally unrelated to the subject at hand, but I'm glad to know my journalism career field can still let me have a CTR or something of the sorts someday
