So I went on a float today down the river and a good spot to get out is under the Rte7 bridge. I was nervous AF parking my FK7 there because, well face it, there are sketchy people that hangout at that spot. Not to mention wet dirty river tubes in my car had me cringing. Fast forward a 3hr float and we get out and I'm walking to my car and see this jewel.

And I thought I was scared to park my car there lol

CTR parked under the bridge. Now that's something to be nervous about

It just a Honda. It's not like an Audi or BMW.

Apparently in 2018 a 1998 honda civic and 1997 Honda Accord were Americas most stolen vehicles

The more you know

I mean I get being protective over your ride, hell i'm pretty protective over all my cars, but there is a such a thing as being too protective. Stuff like parking under a bridge or whatever is just a part of car ownership, just gotta suck it up and if anything happens it happens. Now if you're talking like a super expensive ride like an expensive Ferrari, Lambo etc, then I can kinda understand, but other than that you just gotta treat it like normal and hope nothing happens. Even with my BMW, I park on sketchy city streets and stuff, just take care of the car otherwise.

So clearly it seems I'm the only one that hates the thought of hoodlems fing my 22k+ car up. Maybe I'm not being clear enough but there is literally people that LIVE under this bridge and could care less about other people's property.

I'm all for minimizing the amount of "risky" situations you put your car in. Unfortunately I find it's more often the case than not, that people live around where I park my car, and most people don't seem to give a shit about others property.

I feel ya, man. I mean, yeah, I go to lengths to avoid putting myself or my car in sketchy scenes, too, but it's unavoidable. I tend to try and park next to other cars of equal value or higher (law of averages). I don't try to single myself out like parking the furthest away or worse double park. If I see a trashed out car, I tend to pass up the space. I know that being next to a nicer car doesn't guarantee that the owner gives a shit but more often than not I've been good with that approach.

TL; DR: It's your ride, you do you, man. And that's cool that you encountered a CTR. I bet they saw your ride and thought, "Hey if that other Civic owner thinks is cool, then we can park here..." haha

this is true, I sometimes park on the street at night and get worried because it's a new car, then I walk home and see nicer cars street parked as well. My car is my baby but for others I don't think anyone will see a modern honda and think of it as a target of any sort. At this point I'm more worried about having to park under telephone poles and waking up to bird poop on my paint. I figure if someone decides to vandalize cars they will go smashing windows, and at least the paint/body will be intact then lol

I am very aware of where I park in lots though, if I "feel" the neighboring cars will dent my doors without hesitation I'll look for another spot

Oh really?! I don’t think I’ve ever looked back at most Audi’s or BMWs as they pass by me, the way I do with the Type R and Si. Honda does engineer some of the best cars on the planet

That might have something to do with the fact you're a Civic enthusiast. I think the point he was trying to make is that Audis and BMWs are much more expensive cars in general, so if anything were to happen to them it's a bigger loss. You can't seriously compare a $23k Si to a $50-60k+ luxury car that will just be a bigger headache if it were to get stolen or damaged. Not saying the Civics aren't nice cars, but the point is if people with cars that are worth $30-40k more than a Civic are parking in sketchy places, you can too.

Don't overlook the $40-60K pickups that were also likely parked under the bridge ;) I would assume the CTR owner 1) likes his car so he drives it 2) has insurance 3) loves to make homeless tent city folks jealous.

Ugh yeah you can. When u work hard and buy your first brand new car for 22k and put money into mods people tend to eye your car out more which was expected. Yeah my car in my eyes is worth just as much as those crappy German cars. Can't believe so many people on here are getting upset at my post lmao
