Also not giving up on Honda altogether. I have high hopes for the next gen Civic. Hope they learn some lessons. IMO I could live with a little less efficiency and more content (a real stereo, a real SI engine instead of a upgraded EX engine, etc.)

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I personally am leaning to go a little higher luxury. Wishing Audi A5 sportback but not really in my price range lol

If I switch up I want something I can throw my bike in the back of (not suv though!)

Need to check out the GTI I think too.
Yeah the MKVIII GTI will be amazing...

But I hope they don’t overdue it in the looks department.

What issues did you run into?
Here is a list I can remember of issues with the 2016 Touring:
- 4 inches of water in the trunk. Rear spoiler replaced by dealer but trunk was all scratched after the fix
- Infotainement system replaced completely due to screen black out and sound failure
- Rear sub kept rattling after multiple dealer visit
- Front seat starter to show leather tear after 30k miles. Look like the finish on the leather was peeling
- Oil dilution (Only started after the recall)
- Transmission squeal on warm start up (Dealer never fixed it but I think there is a TSB)
- Paint was so cheap, you could see all the clear was gone at the bottom of the door

If you're going to aim for the next gen civic, I'm not sure if getting the first year of that gen is ideal because its a rule of thumb that the first model year will have its bugs showing so you may want to wait for the second model year or even third to be on the safe side.

When I was a teenager I had a 67 Chevy Nova SS. If I can come up with the money I would like to get another one. They are just expensive if you find one in good shape.

If I were to leave the Si scene, I'd probably first check out a lightly used Lexus RC 350 F Sport. I'd be really concerned about losing a MT and getting a heavier car, but maybe driving it would change my mind. If a sedan is needed, IS 350 F Sport would be where I'd look.

If I decided I needed a MT for fun, I'd probably look for a $10k-$12k daily and then a $15k-20k Trans Am from 2001-2002. I've wanted one for the longest time, but that can't be a daily at nearly 20 years old.
I had a 2000 Trans Am WS.6 that I purchased brand new during my university days. Regret selling it and buying the 2007 Saleen Mustang.

If I had to be in a similar price range, I would look into the New 2019 Jetta GLI.

I would also wait for the next generation WRX and STI.

I had one too, I think my biggest issue with another WS6 is the interior, it has not aged well. Just like the c5 Corvette the interior has not aged well over the last twenty years. I still love the engine, 6 speed, and looks. But the cheap interior kills the last generation of the Trans Am.

I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoy my 4 door, 19 SI. It’s a perfect dad car with lots of space that offers a little extra and keeps me in the culture I love.

With that being said, I won’t be “moving” on for awhile. My dream car will be available in a few years in the states, 95 R33 GTR in Midnight Purple. That will be my next adventure at some point. I’ll keep the SI for what it was made to be, a fun, practical daily driver.

I am with you on that. I feel it keep me in the modifying culture of imports but still maintain practical portion of daily driving.

I am looking to get rid of my weekend car and replacing with bmw m3 sedan

A stock Si sedan can be a bit underwhelming after a little while, but then it's up to you to decide how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go with modifications. I'm taking the rope down into the hole, some have jumped straight in and are quite happy with the Si's potential. My strategy has been to modify with a plan rather than just throwing parts at it, striking balance between comfortable daily with track capabilities. After a recent day at the road course, I'm quite happy with how the car performed (minus stock brakes which will be changed soon). The car also has been trouble-free with the Hondata +9 tune which I've been running for 1.5 years and 25K Kms (15K Miles).

However, power upgrades haven't been my focus, I'm all about chassis and suspension, including wheels and tires. I'm super happy with my Si, and it will be a long term keeper. At this point one may question why not trade in for a Type R...My reasons are not wanting a Hatch simply because the looks didn't fully grow on me, not wanting another FWD car, and for that much money I'd rather go with a newer Camaro SS, or used C6 Z06. For Si money, I'd try a BRZ or a used ND Miata if anything were to make me switch cars tomorrow. New Supra, and M2 Competition are on my map with career and life progress :)
