Our state has front plates but some people don't put them on. My neighbor had a Corvette for several years & never had a front plate. When I bought my other car the dealer said they don't install the front bracket on performance models until they discuss it with the buyer. He said I probably wouldn't get hassled if I got stopped unless I was a young kid or trouble maker, or words to that affect. Obviously there's some risk there.
I just moved from PA where is there is no requirement to TX where is a requirement, I got pulled over the second week on highway and given a warning.

right now I use ziptie. but a little concern about the blocking the airflow?
went to autozone to buy a front bracket, then the guys in the store said no blocking, so I changed my mind and keep the ziptie.

In a car magazine a reader wrote in because he noticed the cars in photos had no front license plates & suggested the magazine use its influence to get states to eliminate front plates.

The editor replied he was driving a car from Mazda & got pulled over for no front plate. Mazda said they’d rather pay a ticket than have their cars photographed with a front license plate.

Live in Kentucky. No requirement. Work in Ohio. Just passed a bill so there is no requirement. There was only a few dealers around me that didn't have the front plate installed already but the others were willing to not install it on a new order for me. Some of the dealers around here have been putting a badge similar to the "civic" badge with the dealers name on it and that looks worse.

I don't know why dealers add the emblem with their name. I own it!

As soon as I get home, I always rip it off.

My state doesn't require them, but my car came from a dealership in a state that does so it had a holder. No biggie for me since I make my own tags to display, but if it had a dealer tag on it I would of taken it off in their parking lot and three it away.
I didn't want the dealer where I had to pick it up from having their name on it at all. I was notified my car arrived there and was there in less than an hour, they had already slapped their crap on it, and its some metallic junk I can't get off :(

I would ask them to remove it for you; it seems like a reasonable request

Is it a nameplate that looks like its stuck on with the usual double side foam tape? You might try dripping some solvent into/onto the adhesive in order to soften it. I don't know what's safe to use on Honda's paint but I've used Ronsonal cigarette lighter fluid on all sorts of surfaces without a problem including my other car. It may be similar to bug & tar remover.

It's obvious that it's for advertising. You said so yourself.

The average person never removes this stuff, and probably doesn't even own a screwdriver in the first place.

Regarding removing dealer adhesive plates: Hair dryer + fishing line or dental floss has worked well for me, then I follow up with some WD-40 to get off the remaining residue and rubbing alcohol to get rid of the WD-40. That being said, most of the time I don't even need the WD-40 / alcohol, I end up being able to rub off the remaining adhesive with my thumb.

No, this is like a flat sticker, but its metallic, chrome looking stuff.
