Yes I meant fusion, auto correct got me and it would be amazing if it could be further developed. I don't see hydrogen being feasible due to the financial challenges but then again all of this isn't my specialty. Either way it's a great time for automotive technologies.
I agree and I enjoyed the back and forth banter. I do believe the dealerships are going to be worse on the markups on the yellow type r when Honda releases it. In my area, one of the dealerships sold their first type R for 60k and this one sale set a benchmark in early 2017 for what appeared to be for most of the east coast.

I have as well.

The mark up is annoying but it wasn't difficult getting one at MSRP. I spent about a year randomly emailing dealers in my area without luck and decided I was going to put forth more effort. Ended up emailing a dealer outlining what I wanted to put down, trade in, and that I'd be there to buy a car if they dropped the mark up. I got it for MSRP, but had to finance through them. They wouldn't even allow me to buy it outright cash. So I'll pay it off in 2 years to keep my credit running and they can make a few bucks from the financing.

I think most people just ask about the car and shutdown when they don't hear what they want which doesn't present a serious buyer.

As a whole the buying experience is a joke, if there's another R in the future I'll probably overlook Honda and move into a luxury performance car simply to avoid the BS.

Currently driving my sister's car since she's studying abroad until August before I pull the trigger on buying a CTR. Hopefully more pics and info for the 2020 is out by then for me to make a decision on 2019 or 2020 .

I agree, buying process totally sucks... so much greed and so much “I give up, I want it now” keeping the prices high so long after first being released..... a lot if not all that ADM money goes straight down the drain. You certainly won’t get it back in trade in. I paid just a tad over which I didn’t mind until my car was recently in an accident..(not my fault). I’m about to get screwed on my diminished value claim.

Anyone know if the 2020 type r cars will be available this year? I’m thinking about passing on a 2019 if the 2020 Will have many improvements.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, could be totally overlooked, but the little trapezoid in the top of the windshield is the camera for honda sensing, considering the Accord 2.0T Manual has sensing it would not be absurd to think that they have added it however, the adaptive cruise control is haphazard at best in a car that you're trying to go fast in. Would seriously only use the lane assist and BSMS.

I hope it comes with Honda sensing! That means I can mess with Comma AI’s open pilot.

Don’t the European cars come with this as standard? My FK8 has lane assist, trafic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control and automatic braking. During some track days the auto brake has kicked in when it thinks I am not braking hard enough :)

I hope they never add lane assist or any other 'hey lets help out people not paying attention to the road' features.

This is a sports car imo, not a minivan that needs all that extra weight and needless bs. Not having that is one of the top features to me.

I doubt it’s a significant amount of weight. It’s just software. The camera is a few extra grams if anything. It would be nice to have the features especially if they can be turned off. The open pilot can add self driving which is nice for long drives.

They do in fact come standard yes, However the on pictured is LHD meaning an american model if im not mistaken and they have never come with these features before which could be very nice just no ACC please I dont like it.

Either way I’m interested in seeing the changes but from the looks of it I don’t think I like the front and rear bumpers of the facelift. I don’t mind not having the add ones, it’s more in tune to what the original R was about.

Does anyone here think this will be an AWD version? I know that’s unlikely, but I recently saw a tear down of a ctr on the VTEC Academy YouTube channel (its a year or so old by now). I’m it, the mechanic goes over the entire car, including dropping the engine out of it. He pointed out a few beefed up parts in the rear including a hump in the subframe that seems to indicate, according to him, that it could’ve be designed for an AWD system. Maybe Honda did research into it and just left the beefed up parts in the rear? I don’t know, just pulling at strings here until the thing comes out.

No chance. Not in this generation anyways
Besides man, Honda proves the FK8 doesn’t need AWD to blow its competition away on the track.
