I see.. so can you switch maps on the fly with car running? At a light say?

With Cobb tuning platform, no sure if familiar with it or not, but with Cobbs AccessPort you have to have the car off then you can flash. It takes 2-3 min to flash a map but no on the fly flashing. The flex kit takes care of ethanol blend on the fly though as i assume is with ktuner.

But at home you could adjust a map and add timing say?

Can't wait to upgrade my stock frame td04 (Lancer RA) to get into the mid 300s whp on gas pump only.
With E85 gets into the low 400s and is capable of running 11s as other had done already but too bad I don't have E85 available nearby.

Yea you sure can, but itā€™s definitely not recommended unless you know what youā€™re doing. Is Cobb more restricted? I think I remember someone telling me that Cobb had some restrictions for user tuning

Yes it is. They have you pay additional 150$ and mandate basic efi tech classes then open accesstuner for you but only for your ecu and accessport, ie your car. You can never tune someone elseā€™s car with your accessport (ap). For that you need a pro licence and software.

Yea i am not a tuner and i was just asking, wondering and learning how it works on your platform w ktuner. It comes preloaded w maps i assume, we call those off the shelf maps in cobb world. Preset maps for preset hardware setup.

From what i read in the ctr/fk8 forums stg 1 ktuner map gets 350whp and thats amazing especially w no car mods, just a stg 1 ktuner tune. Where does it get you in the si?

I wonder what they are gonna do w their flex fuel tune? Are these tunes then downloadable and free to you having ktuner already?

It sucks you have no e85, ever since going flex i havent pumped anything else but local e54 blend.

Copied and pasted from one of 360glitch's post.

182whp / 206tq - Factory Calibration
208whp / 258tq - Ktuner Starter 23psi
237whp / 281tq - TSP Stage 1 Tune
245whp / 278tq - Ktuner Starter 23psi w/ Flex Fuel
270whp / 327tq - TSP Stage 2 Tune w/ Flex Fuel

Do you have a build thread or pictures of your car? I wanted a WRX hatchback originally but the resale value of clean examples are pretty high.

This guy at work with a WRX doesn't understand the concept of WHP vs HP at the crank. He thinks he would beat me in a race lol. Poor little guy I don't entertain his offer to race because I know I will put bus lengths on him. Raced modded WRX on the freeway the other day after he saw me and some AMGs playing around. I gave him a head start and still blew past him.

If you are interested in the capabilities check this out... http://www.ktuner.com/KTunerHelp/

On the fly map switching is just that. You can do it while driving using the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. You don't even need to be stopped. The maps are set up at home using KTuner software. You choose the basemap you want to start with and then can customize the tune. I stick to all the pre-programmed drop-down settings. I don't play with timing, AFR, boost levels, etc.

I currently have them set up along these lines. I can toggles through as I want. 6 different settings available at the touch of a few buttons.

Map 1 - Factory Boost normal mode, 19.5psi Sport mode - normal cruising around
Map 2 - 19.5 boost/21.5 sport mode - having fun through the twisties
Map 3 - 21.5 boost/23 sport mode - acceleration runs

Just went to tsp website. The tune is cheap and well worth it. You dont wanna know what a custom wrx flex fuel tune is.

I would strongly advise going flex fuel +120$ tune. This is a burn and run tune right, not custom e tune?

I built my own flex kit and sell them on ebay for half price what cobb charges wrx owners, best thing i did is build it and go flex fuel. If you have e85 available do it.

I dont have a build thread, sorry. Fbo stg2 plus flex fuel custom tune for e50 and 91oct. Car looks oem/stock w legal tint.

Do any of you use virtual dyno for plotting pulls down for comparison? I find it does a very good job at comparing tunes and power curves.

Thatā€™s nice.

I can burn only one map and being flex it means Iā€™m tuned for 91oct to e50 and anything in between. No switching modes.. its a subaru. Lol i wish.

Sheeesh thatā€™s crazy, I test drove ā€˜15 wrx with only 9k miles on it, I was pretty stuck between that and my ā€˜17 si that I ended up choosing. Both seem to be awesome cars, and it seems to be driver mod for who wins a roll race with equal mods. Wrx should have easy launch advantage

2015 Lancer Ralliart
Same engine as the EVOX but with a smaller single scroll turbo. The All wheel drive system is from the EVO 9. The transmission is dual clutch shared with the EVO10 MR.
A real chimera.

Cobb offers accessport for it but the preferred and safer solution is opensource using EcuFlash.
Im about to put a boost controller plus etune to make boost pickup more constant and safer. Car should get in the 270awhp. Then save for upgraded stock frame turbo, fuel system and upgraded exhaust manifold (stock are prone to crack). That should take it to the 350awhp. That is enough to have fun around.
