It was a custom order from WC Lathe Werks. It cost me $199.50 shipped for titanium and custom engraving (so no worries about paint rubbing off). https://www.lathewerks.com/civic-titanium-sphere-shift-knob.htmlWait. How do I get one of these and how much will it cost me?
Wow... what kind of custom work did you get done that jacked up the price of the copolymer from a base price of $79?they cost quite a bit. i bought a custom WC lathewerks knob for my Focus RS ($180). i was disappointed in the quality. there was a dimple left in the copolymer from machining and the engraving paint rubbed off within a couple months. i am much happier with the quality of the Raceseng knob.
it was the elite VP sphere. here is a picture of what it looked like after a few months of use. notice the dimple left on the top and the faded paint. yours being full titanium will be better, but i was not happy for the money i paid.Wow... what kind of custom work did you get done that jacked up the price of the copolymer from a base price of $79?
$180 for a plastic knob is insane.
Wow... I wouldn't be happy either. Well you were right, the full Ti version came out really well. That looks great! How does it compare in size and weight to the stock shift knob?Super stoked about how this turned out!
Thanks. It's slightly bigger than stock. I believe the stock is around 1.85" in diameter and this is around 2". While that seems like a small size increase on paper, it feels substantially larger in the hand. As for weight, it is roughly twice the weight. I don't like super heavy knobs as they tend to over dull the shift feel. This mutes some of the transmission "noise" (not sound but feel) and still provides enough sensation of engagement for me to feel connected to the shifting process. That looks great!
