If there's anyone interested in a '19 CW, Honda World in Louisville KY just rolled one out onto the lot. I called them to get some pricing and transport fees and he quoted me an accessory fee to have trunk mat, all weather floor mats, and splash guards. Shipping was roughly $2,000.00 real nice guy, sent me a video of the car to showing me it was on the lot. It's still above MSRP but just passing along the information.

Surprise Honda in AZ also has a CW on the lot and they're wanting above MSRP, started at 42K before TTL and mentioned his best offer is 40,864. I declined and they've come back with "what price are you aiming for" may be worth for someone to walk in and negotiate better price, just passing it along.

Hi Everyone! This is my first post on the forum as I am a new 2019 Type R owner. I was lucky enough to pick up mine in Delaware at Price Honda at MSRP ($36,620). The dealership does not run on commission, there for Jay Gonzalez, the salesman, I consider to be a saint for selling me the car at that price.

However, before purchasing the car I asked several other dealers for prices that ranged from $40000 to $46000. The $46,620 offer was a "Discount" for me from Rusty Wallis Honda of Dallas. They listed the car at $52,580. I attached the email below. It took almost a week of emails to finally get them to reveal the price to me. The car was listed on their website for MSRP. It seems to be a common theme reading through this thread regarding dealers not being honest on the advertising of their prices. I attached the last email I received from them below.

A few days ago, I received a message from Honda of El Paso. I had contacted them about two months ago to let them know I was in the market for a CTR in June. They offered me a Sonic Grey Pearl car for $41620.

Rudolph Honda (El Paso, TX) was over MSRP + $4000 in accessories, that is $40620 out the door.

I surveyed all of the cars over MSRP that were reported on this thread for the last three months as of this past Tuesday. Of 88 cars mentioned, the average sale price has been $42773.18, or an average of a $6178.18 mark up.

I also examined all of the new Type Rs on sales currently according to Cars.com.

Of 405 cars currently on sale, 50 did not have an advertised price (9.8% of all cars), Of the remaining 355 cars, 283 were listed at MSRP and 72 were advertised with a mark up (25.4% of listed cars).

Of the 72 cars,
23 had a markup between $1000 - $4995,
12 cars had a $5000 markup
11 cars had a markup between $5000 - $10025

Overall of the 355 cars that had a listed price, the average price was $40988, which is an average markup of $4393.

If anyone would like to see my research, please let me know I would be happy to email it to you or post it later.

I am writing an article that I hope to have published in the coming weeks regarding the issue of continued Civic Type R markup.

Sounds interesting. A lot of Honda dealerships have generated plenty of ill will and will lose some future purchases due to their markups. Now comes the fun part for you when the morons at the high-markup dealerships contact you to see if you are still looking and you get to tell them that you already bought one - at MSRP. That's Priceless!!

I have to say, I've already responded to three dealerships letting them know I bought the car at sticker price. They seemed surprised, and it made me chuckle a bit. There are good salesman out there who will work with you. What I find most intriguing is that most other cars with high markup generally drop off within the first year. To continue to have this issue two years after the car went on sale is fairly unique for any sub $100,000 car.

One important note about my data: 50 of those cars did not have a listed sale price. While i could try to call each and every individual dealer, I don't quite have the time for that unfortunately. I had to exclude that data for the new cars on sale and focused on the 355 that did have list prices.

However, of those cars listed, it is possible some of the cars that were listed online at MSRP, could actually be listed at the dealership for a higher price. As previously mentioned, two dealership tried a "Bait and Switch" tactic, so that is something to keep in mind with the data and the averages that I calculated.

At first, I called the dealership because the car was listed on Autotrader for $36,620. I wanted to ask them if they could confirm if that was the price, and if I could put a deposit down to reserve the car.

The subsequent several emails and phone calls they delayed telling me the price. The salesmen told me they needed to speak to their sales manager to confirm the price. They spoke about how numerous other people were interested in the car and how supply was limited. It took several days of communicating with them to get them to announce the actual sales price. Here was one such email below. This was three days before they finally announced they were trying to sell the car at $46000, not the $36,620 as advertised online.

Ocean Honda of Whittier is a no go. Unless you want to pay 44k. Car is msrp then it goes to 40700 with accessories and with CA tax it comes out to a whopping 44900. Other fees not included.

The salesman stated it’s a one of kind car and that once they are gone. That’s it. He did say that an s2000 refresh may be coming. Under some other name s6 something.

The car is not one of a kind after 3 years of being here and 2020s are coming. They need to get off their ADM high horses.

I'm really looking forward to one year from now when my 2019 Si is paid off and I start Type R shopping. I'm gonna walk out on so many greedy salespeople.

Anyone know what the USDM production #’s are? I saw the global type r registry and the highest one is R-27523. Acura Integra Type R production #’s these are not. Dealers act like they can charge an arm and a leg when there are so many of these things being produced. Just want some info to talk down to sales men that try to talk down on me for asking MSRP.

On May 5th I purchased a 2019 CTR in Championship White at Santa Monica Honda. It was at MSRP plus $2700 of accessories (see addendum). I priced out the accessories at retail around $2100. Factor in installation and I probably overpaid by a few hundred dollars. So far the best deal in SoCal I've seen.
