Mods: prl catless dp/ fp, prl drop in intake, and ktuner w/ tsp stage 1

Back story: car was running fine until one day I redlined it, and it sounded off. Next day i noticed when I WOT, it would lose boost. After a while it started misfiring on cylinder 4. I checked all spark plugs, and spark plug #4 was broken.

Today: I changed all spark plugs (OEM), and now k tuner is telling me there is a misfire on 1&3. The car feels good until I WOT, and it doesn’t hit the full 25lb.

Any ideas? Similar experiences/ threads? Something I can fix before I take it in?

Hmmm double check that you used the correct plugs and gap size, maybe someone here could look at a datalog of yours. Any more details to how it feels when you go wot? Misfires? Car pulling power? My car would misfire only above a certain amount of boost turned out both Honda and another shop had put incorrect spark plugs in my car. Honda said the box itself was mislabeled and the plugs were for a base model civic :dunno:

The car sounds and runs normal at idle and when I drive it. It’s just when I step on it, it feels slow and only goes to 18lb
I honestly don’t even know if it’s running lean or rich. Ik what it means, but I’m pretty clueless whether my car is or not
I’ll check everything rn and send post it

You might want to check all your pipe fittings, hot and cold side. Possible small boost leak.

- Double Check all the bolts on DP/FP..

Pretty sure its the spark plugs causing the misfire when going WOT though.

- Check Spark plugs part# ( Si spark plugs are NGK Laser Iridium - ILZKAR8J8SY - 95660 )
- Torque spark plugs correctly as well.

Why would loose bolts on the DP/FP cause a misfire? Genuine question. Downstream exhaust is well after combustion no?

I never said it was the DP/FP but depending on air fuel ratio (O2 sensor) it could throw a misfire code due to downpipe leaking.. but never hurt to double check those bolts/fitment. I also stated that it would most likely be the spark plugs since I've ran into that problem before. I ran a "compatible" NGK Laser IR. ILZKAR8H8S and when going WOT it would cause a misfire and go into limp mode for a bit. Switching to NGK Laser Iridium - ILZKAR8J8SY and problem was gone.

Just to let everyone know it was the battery :/
Honda changed it and everything is literally back to normal
Okay just make sure you run a good fuel system cleaner every so often. I run one like at least every oil change. Gumout all-in-one. These cars have fuel injector issues with clogging I dealt with 2 cars at my dealership in 2 weeks with misfires and the injectors were the culprit. I only use Shell or BP because they have more cleaners to help keep everything clean and happy. Help you from costly repairs in the future! Cheers!!

I don’t think the battery would be on the top 10 list of probable causes of misfire codes. Lol at least it was an easy fix

Why was the battery causing this? I recently went through a misfire in cylinder 1 and had the injectors replaced and that fixed it for me. I've been monitoring it so far though and everything seems fine.
