I think I’m going to pull the trigger on this. PRL is taking way too long, and it’s essentially the same design. Should I go with the dry or oil filter? And which vendor offers the best price?

I have the dry one. I purchased mine from procivic. Idk if that’s the best price currently though.

How much did you pay for it? Procivic currently lists it for $379 + $20 discount. The lowest I saw it Emnotek listing for $345 with the oil filter. I don’t have any experience with either vendor.

Also, in the future, if I want to replace just the filter with a new one, can I just buy the filter separately?

Just went to their website and found they also offer the carbon fiber version now for those who are interested.

Ordered this with the dry filter. Do we have to extend the MaF harness? Is the stock one not long enough?

i don't remember. it was like a year ago. You don't need to do any extending of the harness.

Installed this intake yesterday. A few observations:
  • The MAF harness is very closed to the engine now. I hope it won't cause an issue in the future.
  • The rubber silicone flex tube is so flimsy compared to stock. Also, they use tamper-proof silicone clamp, and it was a pain to loosen it. I replaced it with the flat head clamp to make it easier in the future.
  • The front air inlet could better. There's a gap which means the engine heat can get it. Also, the pre-drilled holes for the rubber strip is a little off at the corner. I wished they designed the inlet like stock. Eventuri, Injen and PRL all did this.
My biggest concern is the MAF harness being so closed to the engine. I hope it holds up over time.

what do you mean by being so close to the engine? Do you have a picture? Mine gets routed from under the plastic arm.

the rubber silicone flex tube did bother me at first but it's been fine so far with no issues. I'm also not sure why honda decided to use tamper proof clamps on the intake arm. Don't really see a need for them.

If i have to name one thing I dislike about the intake, it would be that gap. I don't see any ridiculously high IATs like i did with the injen so i stopped worrying about it.

edit: oh you mean how it's closer than where it is stock. I thought you meant the harness. Yeah, I don't think the location is an issue.

Mine is routed under toward the front. The MAF is shifted away from the airbox toward the middle of the tube. It's right in front of the engine so the harness is about 1" away from the engine. There are other hose that kept it from touching the engine but I'm still concerned it will weaken the conductor insulation or connection over time. For the gap, I was thinking of going to to Home Depot to buy some weather strip to cover or at least minimize that gap.

Do you have a comparison between Stock IAT vs AFE?

uhh i might. I have posted a variety of data around this forum. Not at home so i can't dig it up right now.

The harness shouldn't be an issue. There are harnesses that are closer to the engine than that. I guess you can technically wrap it with some heat reflective foil if you are worried.

I decided to take off the Takeda and go back to stock. Good intake though, but I drive with music on pretty much all the time so I find myself not enjoying the intake as I thought it would be.

damn that was fast lol.
I'm the total opposite of you. i do debate on going back to stock intake at times but I only really drive the car with music on at like volume 8 or 9 so it made it more fun lol.
