Mhmh kind of off topic but you can take off rev matching right from the car. No need for hondata or ktuner :p
We are talking about rev hang not rev match. Rev match is for down shifting, rev hang is for up shifting.

quick question - is it okay to skip gear when upshifting? like 3rd to 5th? i actually do that but then i have read that its not good to skip gear in both up/down shifting.

As long as you don’t bog or overrev your engine by doing it, it shouldn’t harm it, just make sure to rev match appropriately.

Some say it may adversely affect your synchros... if you’re really worried about that then you can double clutch.

I think technically the amount of "extra" wear that it puts on the synchros/clutch is negligible to the entire life of the components. So while technically it's better to be rev-matched appropriately, it doesn't realistically make a difference unless you're just dumping the clutch every time you skip a gear.

this only happens to me if my revs are too low. shit catches me off guard sometimes lol, ill expect a revmatch and let the clutch out and jerk lol
Came here to say this. My Z06's rev match I perfect. Holds/increases revs and knows which gear you're in instantly so every shift is smooth. I noticed on the Type-R that low speed downshifts DO NOT rev match so it catches me off guard a lot since I'm so used to the rev match on the Z06. It might take a while to get used to.

I assume that means that if it will be above 2000rpm in that gear, then it will rev match? Makes sense since you're probably not driving aggressively at that point and it's easy enough to bump it up 500-1000 rpm while releasing the clutch.

It's easy enough to bump up the revs but I'd prefer it just did it for me. Seems unnatural for it to not do it all the time for you. It's rev match... not 'sometimes rev match'.

It’s a static parameter that works at 2000rpm or above, it’s not LAZY and decides work when ever it feels like it.

If the target rpm is 2000rpm, it won’t rev match. I guess the thought is at that low rpm, it won’t jerk much so you don’t need rev match. Kinda half-ass of Honda IMO. Also, rev match is a lot more pronounced in R+ mode. I’m

Oh it’ll still make a noticeable jerk even at those low revs. It’s baffling why it doesn’t work at those RPM ranges. I basically try to keep my revs above 2k all the time to take advantage of it. If I don’t, I have to skip a gear down which will allow it to reactivate.

The +R rev match is wicked quick but it tends to overshoot by 500 meaning if you don’t pause for a quarter of a second you’ll feel a slight jolt.

I've actually noticed that if I miss a downshift (i.e. wait too long and the revs drop below 2k), it'll still auto rev match if I double clutch into the gear I want. Only gear it doesn't seem to work for is going into 2nd. If I want to downshift to 2nd and I drop below 2k in 3rd, I have to manually rev match every time.
