I am very new to these car forum things so please bear with me.

So I am currently leasing a 2018 Civic EX hatchback but was always loved the way the Type R wing looked on the car.

I understand that it’s very unusual to make cosmetic modification to a leased car, but wanted to ask you guys and gals if there were non invasive methods that auto body shops use for situations like this. I would look to remove the wing before I give the car back if I didnt want to buy it after my lease ends, without leaving any damage on the back of the hatch door where the wing would be mantled.

I get free oil changes which are included in my monthly payment, but i was wondering if cosmetic mods like adding a wing would affect or void any lease agreements with the dealership.

Thanks for your help!

The proper way is to drill the hatch door and mount the wing. You will have to pay for the repair cost of the hatch when you return the car after your lease ends.

I have seen people mount their wing with very strong mold tape/duct tape. But, the wing lift up and flew away or fell off, luckily it didn't hit any cars.

No, OEM wing needs 3 holes on each side and it’s quite heavy (felt like 40-45 lbs).

Use heavy-duty 3M mounting type. It works on my Civic.

It might be possible for the sedan spoiler but not recommended for the CTR-style wing. Proceed with caution.
