Wanted to ask about the people that have vinyl wrapped their front lips for their civics. I plan on ordering the Bayson R front lip soon, and was curious the best way to go about Carbon Fiber vinyl wrapping the entire thing and running the red pin stripe down it. I love the look and think it is an awesome project to learn how to use vinyl on.

I had a few questions about the actual execution.

1. Will I be wrapping it in a solid piece? Or do you overlap smaller pieces of vinyl to have it all come together?
2. Do I need any special tools other than perhaps a heat gun?
3. Any specific brands of Vinyl that will hold on on the lip?
4. What material would I use for the red pin stripe, and whats the best way to apply it?

Thanks everyone in advance!

I'm gonna watch this thread eagerly because I've been thinking about wrapping my stock lip in carbon vinyl. As far as the red stripe, Trimbrite would probably work. Check my garage, I did the factory lip with it.

No one has answered this for me so I ended up just spray painting my lip. It came out pretty bad but you can’t tell unless you get really close. Honestly I was rushing the paint job and didn’t give it enough time to dry before adding more coats. I’m going to do it again but with the spray gun adapter and more time.

I’d still like to wrap in CF but the 3M CF is so expensive!

This is a Bayson R lip wrapped in carbon fiber...done myself one solid piece did not do any overlays cutting small pieces. Tools you need heat gun, felt squeege, and some 70% isopropyl alcohol mixed with a little water. For the red pinstripe you can use 3/16 red pinstripe tape found at most bodyshop supply stores. When applying the pinstripe I used 3m adhesive promoter because vinyl doesn't stick to vinyl very well.

Which wrap did you purchase and how large do you need to fit the entire lip? I’ve checked amazon and the 3M CF ones are hella expensive and I would rather get it professionally done (quoted $200) then mess it up doing it myself.

I used Avery CF wrap and if you get a 6ft by 3ft piece and stretch the material that should be enough to cover your lip. $200 sounds fair considering the time, materials, and labor.
