Same, since PRL isn't planning to get theirs CARB certified and Mishimoto recently announced their certification.Screw it, I’m ordering the Mishimoto
Where did you see that Mishimoto is getting an EO?Same, since PRL isn't planning to get theirs CARB certified and Mishimoto recently announced their certification.
No details but I know they do a STREET and RACE versions for the 1.5T intakes with the RACE requiring a different calibration. The STREET version is plug-n-play of course.
We have (and still are) entertained the idea of a Race MAF. However, we would like to nail all aspects of the standard Street MAF intake system before moving forward on anything else.plans to offer race version with 4" MAF Housing?
I hope they have a cold air version
Given the design of the CTR, we were not able to effectively offer a true CAI, unlike the 1.5T. The trans cooler and tight spacing makes this a nightmare for production and installation. The factory CTR air ducting works rather well, so this does see cold air.it is technically cold air, the filter pulls air from the grill area, not from the engine bay
Maybe in 2025
Bruh, I give up on this . hopefully it'll.be out when I come back from.vacation lol

Ah, this restlessness reminds me of a certain other FK8 9 month intake development thread (from both our company and a few others). Did everyone the fact that our Cobra Cold Air intake system for the 1.5T took 8-9 months to come be released to the market? Then once released, all we were sold out and back out of stock for months again? We have been working hard to improve upon these inventory issues so that our customers don't have to wait and be provided with more accurate ETAs once the product has actually been released, unlike past scenarios. We apologize for the "ridiculous" wait and wanting to offer the CTR community with the best intake system we can provide. Quality products are not manufactured over night, as much as we wish this was the case.Yep...

With that being said, our goal is to be 100% up front with all development and production updates. Once we are 100% satisfied with the cosmetic finish on our air box, we will be releasing an ETA.
We still love you long timeSorry bby
I think what some people have issues with is that the communication just stops. A post is made about final preparation coming shortly and then there is a period of almost two weeks with nothing. We have (and still are) entertained the idea of a Race MAF. Does 2 dolla still make you holla? We still love you long time
I feel like the cost of doing that is pretty huge. I feel like I looked into it at one point and it was like $15,000 per SKU. SOMEONE CORRECT ME if I'm wrong!Hey @PRL Motorsports could you guys at least try to get an EO for us folks in California?
Paying Mishimoto for the sake of CARB compliance just hurts my inner engineer. Reading their "Engineering Reports" is a like watching a damned trainwreck in slow motion. If the stuff they publish is anything like what is required for an EO, it should not be difficult.
If it's a matter of sunk time, can we get a Type R community aided engineering report out to the CARB folks? Please?
We have discussed offering a CARB compliant intake, though just have not wished to tackle the cost/hoops of achieving this at this time.Hey @PRL Motorsports could you guys at least try to get an EO for us folks in California?

We keep the community updated the moment updates are known. The fact of the matter is that days/weeks go by without any update. For instance, we have been working on revising our air box molds for weeks, so there is no update to provide. We do not want to be known as a spam account or give false hope. We are not sitting back getting some sort of sick pleasure withholding information or updates.I think what some people have issues with is that the communication just stops. I for one am really excited about this product and will wait for it to be up for pre order, but perhaps more frequent communications would benefit everyone. If you have the time to post about an upcoming product, you should also have the time to keep those same people updated. So, as you say that you are trying to correct the inventory issues, just say that and keep us all updates. Everyone in this thread is probably a fan of your products, but if we don’t hear anything, it frustrates us.
Can’t wait to see the final product!
