So I’m driving down my road to my house and this white Hyundai suv comes flying down the hill in the middle of the road. They are more then half way into my lane. I swerve to avoid them and they barley tapped the front left bumper and sent me sliding. My car slid into a bridge. I got out and they took off. I was so mad I didn’t even try to do anything. But now guess what? I am stuck paying for all of this when I did absolutely nothing wrong. I’ve never been so mad in my life. This is what the suv looked like:

And this is what my car looks like now:

The front number is destroyed, the front quarter panel, both doors are smashed in, have tons of dents, and huge scratches and the rear quarter panel is messed up too. I’m so irritated. So what do you guys think? How expensive will this be to fix? Is it totaled?

Prudent people deal with their insurance. Social forums aren’t the place for these matters.

Did I ask? I get that but I’m just genuinely looking for opinions and other people giving me their experiences etc. so why don’t you go to some other post and say something on there cause this ain’t it.

It's not totaled ... I used to own a 2017 EXT CVT in White ... at 11,000 miles I got rear ended to the total bill of $12,800. Insurance DID NOT total the car. I begged them. Nope ... when I got it back it was 95% but ... you know ... as a car enthusiast is was not worth anything to me. I gave it to my wife as a trade in deal. I drove her old lease deal around for a while and then DITCHED IT for my current 2019 Si. It all works out for best in the end. Let them fix it and ditch it.

Parts are not rare and not expensive. Insurance company will not total your car unless there are frame damage.

I haven't been in this situation, so it's hard to say how I'd react but in my head, I would chase that person down at least to get their license plate. Hard to say if it's totaled.

I did call them... probably 5-10 mins later. My car was still sitting on the bridge when they showed up. I gave them everything I had on the vehicle and they told me nothing can be done to find it without the license plate number. Reason being is because I have no evidence it was that person. Just the make and the model of the car and possibly some damage to the front left side of their car. Police showed up took my statement and then helped me get my car off the bridge. So no I was not drunk and I did call the police just not as soon as I should have.

I was just in shock. I basically just sat there thinking about how I almost died.

Okay. 1. I was not under the influence of anything. 2. Are you serious?
My bad and you have to pay your deductible yes but your rates won't go up because there is a built it hit and run/uninsured motorist fee in your insurance

Omg. I’m so sorry that happen. My CTR caught on fire while I was at work yesterday in the parking lot. It’s not a good weekend for white civics. Glad you’re okay.
