i have a 2016 civic lx, sedan, automatic. Car won’t start. Steering wheel is locked and brake is hard to press. Did not modifications on it. Just parked overnight in garage and now won’t start. Lights come on dash but does not start when key is turned. Any ideas? Bought new battery last year

If it's trying than it's probably your battery. Could have a parasitic draw draining it's voltage. You should check the battery voltage first

Even if you bought the battery last year, it might still be the battery went bad. Can you try jump start you car?
I’ll have to try jump starting it tmrw as I’m vacationing in Hawaii and flying back hone tmrw. I don’t want my nephew messing around with it and trying to jump start it and mess up something else. Thank you, anxious to go home and troubleshoot my car

Volt meter, very simple to use. If it's under 12.6v it's drained or bad for one reason or another.
Also keep in mind your alternator charges the battery while running so could be a alternator issue letting the battery "act dead"

Also will the power train warranty cover that? Even though I’m already over 60k miles

Come to think of it. It made the same turning over noise last year when i needed a new battery and one of my gfs husband helped me. May need to replace battery and then figure out what’s draining it.

This. Batteries aren't what they used to be. Especially economy batteries from walmart. Whenever a car won't start, it's 99.9% the battery.
