I’m considering a weathertech clear frame, or possibly going bare. Not sure if going bare is a good idea, but it looks clean.

Any suggestions, or pics of what you are currently using?

*i found a thread in the type R forum, which didn’t have a whole lot of suggestions, if there is another one, please link me to it, and I’ll look through there. Thanks.*

I always use a nice, simple black metal license plate frame. The ones I'm using now are really nice and come with snap on screw covers that match the frame. The price is incredible... 2 for $10.

Wow, great price. Will definitely add these to the list of considerations. For $10, what do I have to lose?!

which ones in particular are you using? Do you have any pics of it on the vehicles?

I bought and installed those.
Me too.
Nice frame, but next time around I'm going with a four hole style.
Looks a little off, with just the top screws covered.

I'm using a plastic but carbon texture frame, got it when I was visiting Toronto almost 2 years ago (even before I got my Civic), spent probably like $10 CAD, then added a pair of knock off Mugen license plate screws, and later added a smoke overlay from O'Reilly.

thanks man! Pretty sure I’m going to go with the same one, but without the cover. Looks really good installed.

I got my carbon fiber frame from these guys:

simplycarbonfiber.com

It's pricey but makes the back end of my civic pop with the other black accents.
carbon fiber looks great, I just don’t want to start down that road, and start making everything carbon fiber.

Also how about using black screws like these. Then you could eliminate the screw covers,

Of course you'd need to get the correct size.
I used to have frames with screw covers until one cracked & didn't stay on.
black screws are a must! Some of the black screw covers are cheap, and fall off.

I got a black rubber plate frame from the auto parts store, it has a channel and you stretch it around the plate. Looks real clean and doesn’t make noise from vibration or scratch the paint.

ive looked into these a little bit, my only worry over time is wear, and stretching. How long have you had yours? Have you used them in the past?

I’ve had it a year, and it seems fine, and it gets a lot of Florida sun on it. It cost less than $10, so even if it only lasts a couple years, I’d just buy another one.
