never driven one with a K24 but a friend of mine has a 2zz swapped one and it's a really fun car. It feels so light on its feet and agile. A force inducted one would feel insane.
Yea I've only got to drive a 2zz swapped one as well and loved it. Would like to make an actual legit time attack car someday with one. Gutted, caged, 400-500hp, big tires, some aero and go give it hell.

unless i'm looking used, there really isn't much that attracts me in the 60k price range that sounds good (well not really so sure about the S55 but the N55 did lol.... ) and is fun to drive.
Lack of MT would steer me away from Audi (although they sound really good) and don't really care for domestics that are in that 60k range. If we are talking used, there's a plethora of cars i wouldn't mind lol.

The next step up would be the ZL1 1LE which i think is in the 75k range but if i am going up there, i rather spend more and buy my realistic dream car, a GT4 and call it a day lol.

I see your point. Honestly, I didn't go through the entire thread and just assumed that used cars were on the table. haha. With that being said... you can see why I'm a bit confused as to why everyone was saying "m2 m2 m2" lol

That aside, the M2 is really not that great a car and i stand by it. I would even go as far as to say that it's a crappy car.

I'm probably a super minority on this, but Porsche does very little for me. I find their cars do not age well when it comes to the looks departments.

I understand the need for keeping brand unity by having styling cues carry over from generation to generation, but fuck me, only the Germans take a design cue and hold onto it for 50 years. All their shit is just a new rendition of the previous. I know Porsche aficionados go crazy for that, but to me it just screams boring and unimaginative.

I love their engineering prowess, but beyond that, no thanks.
I disagree with you about Porsche not aging well. The fact that they have been able to carry everything over is just proof how well everything has aged.

And I used to be like you where I just didn't understand what the big deal with Porsche was. I thought they looked ugly and were super overpriced.

But then something changed. I started doing track days, talking with Porsche owners, and even drove and sat in one. You then start to appreciate the engineering and their approach to it all.

I don't think I will ever become a porshe aficionado but after all the experiences I've had, I can see the advantages of owning one someday.

The wagon is cool... Until you see it's fuel economy. I had a number of friends with CTS-Vs... Doesn't matter how lightly you drive that thing, it destroys gasoline. And when you're on it, seeing under 10mpg is completely normal. Guys would joke the fuel gauge moves as fast as the rpm gauge

You need a healthy budget to support the tire and fuel costs for the V.
I hear ya, I dont think the gt350 is much better in that respect but it certainly wasnt made for economy. Unfortunately in this day and age a manual v wagon has become a collectible and I'm willing to bet not many daily theirs around anymore. That being said I'd still love a high mileage one, reliability and terrible mpg included. If anything as a weekend sleeper wagon

Very conservative with the looks, definitely not for everybody, but just wait until you drive one. Even a base Boxster is one of the most satisfying driving experiences you can get.

imo nothing beats an experience of driving a porsche. I'm not a porsche aficionado but when i had the opportunity to drive one, i was sold.

Yeah it definitely wouldn't be my first choice if used cars were on the table lol.
I haven't driven the m2c but did drive the n55 m2 and i thought it was great. I guess you can call it a little expensive for what it is but it drove and sounded great lol. Mind you, i didn't track it or anything so i'm not sure how good the car is in that regard.

Same. I didn't get to drive the M2C because by the time I was done with the N55 M2, I was so over it. What upsets me is that there are all these people that rave about it but honestly the car is overhyped and will always under deliver.

Whoa whoa whoa... Let's back this up- nowhere did I say Porsches are overpriced. Nowhere did I say they're not great to drive. I did mention that I love their engineering. Just the looks? Eeeehhh.

In general, as we age, the more we start to dislike change. I'm guessing the average Porsche buyer is a 50+ year old male- and in my experience, by that age you're well engrained with what you like and what you dont and change sucks. Everyone always says "well I'll like it if it's a good change" but "good" is just a matter of perspective.

Like when these Porsche aficionados were furious that the 996 became liquid cooled vs air cooled. I can't believe there was as much outrage about that, as there was. Who in their right minds builds air cooled cars only these days (or even back in the late 90s)? That in itself I'd call a good, smart change... Yet the aficionados were screaming bloody murder.

Porsche doesn't change because the aficionados, aka the older men who dont want change and the same men putting up the big bucks to buy these cars, don't want change. and as long as they're putting up the big bucks... Why stop doing what they're doing? Porsche knows their target market well.

Having owned a 2014 cayman s and currently a Cayenne GTS and 911 4S I would say the caymans are way more fun. 911 has the heritage but get the cheapest 13-16 cayman s you can find and enjoy. Such a good car

Frankly, I wouldn't spend 60k on a car. I'd buy a Polished Metal Metallic Type R and put the rest of the loot in the bank.
