One of the Best DI video I have come across on YouTube, that gives a very clear and unbiased presentation of Direct Injection engines and Oil Dilution.

Well worth watching, even if you already know quite a bit about DI engines.

I got this N66 recall done and when last week I turned my AC on, i could hear the hissing noise and also no cooling. I went to the dealer and told them and they flat out denied that my non cooling a/c has anything to do with the part they replaced. This part is apparently called AC Climate control unit but the service manager and others keep saying that my A/C not cooling must be some other issue and didn't even consider that the part they put in my car could indeed be faulty. They offered diagnosis of the issue at my cost of $200 and when i said that i don't want to pay anything because my A/C was fine before, they offered that they would do visual inspection and see if they can find something. Guys, you will be surprised with the professionalism, within 5 mins and just doing visual inspection, they cost me repair cost worth $1600 (the condenser needs replacement). I couldn't believe the act they were putting together and the boldness was mind boggling. Anyways i am getting some other shop to have look at the problem and will get in touch with Honda Canada and discuss with them as well. Any ideas on how i can go about this issue. My car has seen 3 summers and no issue until the N66 recall fix.

Keep complaining, complain to upper management contact american honda. But imo the thing problem may very well your condenser and not the recall. The 2016 civic has a lot of problems with its condenser leaking and if it didn't it was just a matter of time till it did leak.

Does this recall come in the mail saying Recall on the envelope or PRODUCT ADVISORY?

I can tell through Informed Delivery Daily Digest that I'm receiving a piece of mail from Honda that states Product Advisory on it.

To be honest other than the factory fill my levels have seemed ok through 3 changes I have done myself in 25K.

And that is through a cold NH winter with a lot of idling (I used my remote starter every morning and still do)

I've had the car since August and surprised if I'm just receiving this now if this is what it is.

Its not a recall so it wont be labeled a recall, could be a product update, or as yours is labeled, a product advisory.

Aha...ok the wording is deceptive. Something about a check engine light might come on if you don't get this update performed...odd

My car seems to running fine and oil levels seem in check even with the idling i do with the remote start. Not sure if I want the dealer breaking other things that aren't broke. It sounds like a few people have had this work done then all of a sudden their AC systems goes to hell?

I apologize in advance if this is not the right place to post. I had the a/c module recall done about a month ago. It’s been colder here so never needed the air conditioning on. Just set it to auto climate at 21. All was perfect. The last couple of days it’s been much warmer and I noticed when I turned the car on it was blowing hot air on the recirc when temp set at 15. Today was 26 degrees out, got in turned the climate control to Lo and all I got was hot air and it stayed on recirculating air mode. I drove for 30 mins before any air became cooler but never got cold. My car before the recall was perfect! When I put on air it was COLD. Could the a/c module replacement have anything to do with this? I do want to add I have noticed the engine warms up much faster now since the update. And weirdly I’m getting much better mileage?

It's likely unrelated. There's well-documented issues with the A/C in the 10th gen civics. I coincidentally had the same thing happen to my A/C right before getting it in for this work. Sadly, I'm a few thousand miles and 4 months out of warranty. They are doing a recharge and replacing the A/C condenser in there.

Well...I bought the Honda Plus extended warranty when I got the car. My thinking was if I’m getting a new model change vehicle I better cover my butt. I bought the car as soon as it came out! Hopefully it covers it

Did you find that your passenger side ran cooler than your drivers side?? It’s so weird??!!

More than likely they were the ones to damage the condenser, or even did some BS to make your A/C not work then quote you a $1600 repair bill to make up for the free recall.
I've seen other posts of people having to get the same "repair" done for these cars. I guess the vents in the front don't do a good job preventing debris from hitting the condensers and end up putting small holes in them. A lot of people are saying it is a design flaw on Hondas part and that it should be covered under warranty.

My GF got a brand new 2017 Civic EXT and her A/C wasn't properly charged from the factory. She had the car for 2 weeks and the A/C never blew cold, even with econ mode off.
They recharged her A/C for free and it works a little better. But $1600 is fucking insane.
