I haven't launched the car, so I haven't seen much boost in 1st, but I've seen 18-20 psi in 2nd gear from a slow roll. I don't think the ECU limits boost for traction in this car. Are you in +R with TCS disabled?
I've tried in +R, and I haven't noticed any loss of traction. I haven't lauched my car though, I usually just roll into the throttle once I'm moving. Maybe I'm not rolling into it fast enough, or subconsciously I'm still holding back some on the throttle.

Or maybe I am, which is my concern. Did you launch the car, or just rolling the throttle in 1st and 2nd?
I just rolled into it. I was in sport mode also. I did spin the tires a little bit boost stayed consistent around 20ish psi.

Any resolution to this? I’m getting the exact same thing pretty much. 2018 CTR. Little to no boost in 1st and 2nd. Driving in Sport mode 100% stock.

Howdy all. I'll keep this short. I'm running on the stock tune with no mods. Even when I roll hard into the throttle in 1st gear, I can't seem to build more than a couple PSI of boost. 2nd gear is only a little better - rolling into a WOT pull in 2nd, I seem to hit 6 or 7 PSI for a brief moment before dropping back to nothing. 3rd gear gets a little easier, and I've seen up to 10 PSI there. It really isn't until I do a 4th gear WOT pull that I see real boost - usually I can hit the mid teens, with an occasional flicker up to 20 PSI.

I'm wondering if something is off with the car. Does the above seem to match what everyone else is seeing on the factory tune? Is there an easy way that I can test for boost leaks and such?
this all seems a bit off. 6 or 7psi in first or second seems really low. Maybe a leak somewhere?

I’d love to test that out, but I’m not much of an engineer. Any turnkey boost leak test kits out there?

The car is factory new as of Feb, and I haven't touch it parts-wise yet. It feels like a leak is unlikely. That said, I am happy to put the issue to rest definitively - is anyone familiar with a boost leak testing kit that I can purchase online?

Not a perfect answer, but the car limits your launch to 3500 RPM.

If I'm not mistaken the ECU itself has it's own "odometer" on it so they'll know that the ECU was only run for thousands of miles less than the odometer. It wouldn't work, and would kind of be unethical to do. Granted I'm sure just enabling TCS that actually limits power couldn't damage the powertrain (in the event of a warranty claim), the other stuff it can do can.
Plus you still have to unlock the factory ECU in order to clone it. My biggest gripe coming from an 18 si to this 19 r is I cant hide tuning.

1st and 2nd gear are pretty useless in this car honestly, it's kinda good and bad. It's to keep u from spinning out even though u still do, but not as much, bad is u will get dusted by grandmas in other cars lol. But really 3rd is where the car wakes up. I get about 0-5 psi in 1st I'd say then 5-10 psi in 2nd, then 3rd hits 17-23psi at about 2700rpm
100% agree with that!
1st and 2nd gear are pretty useless...
Nothing like watching that 1999 Saturn fade off into the sunset from the traffic light...
But --- once you hit 3rd GTF out of the way!

Hondata Traction control really helps especially 2nd gear going WOT

If it's not too cold, I don't spin at all in 2nd gear even with 380tq on the stock tires

I normally see 17-ish PSI, though I've seen as high as 19. Then TCS kicks, the wheels spin, and I let off :p
