Howdy all. I'll keep this short. I'm running on the stock tune with no mods. Even when I roll hard into the throttle in 1st gear, I can't seem to build more than a couple PSI of boost. 2nd gear is only a little better - rolling into a WOT pull in 2nd, I seem to hit 6 or 7 PSI for a brief moment before dropping back to nothing. 3rd gear gets a little easier, and I've seen up to 10 PSI there. It really isn't until I do a 4th gear WOT pull that I see real boost - usually I can hit the mid teens, with an occasional flicker up to 20 PSI.

I'm wondering if something is off with the car. Does the above seem to match what everyone else is seeing on the factory tune? Is there an easy way that I can test for boost leaks and such?

Sounds correct t to me, it is to reduce the power/torque to stop the wheels breaking traction so easily.

I don't have KTuner on my R yet, but I'm curious what the boost tables look like on the stock tune.

I've pegged the boost gauge plenty of times in third @ WOT. You have to roll into the throttle in first and second. You can't just stab it in third.

What is the highest amount of boost that you've seen in 1st and 2nd?

1st and 2nd gear are pretty useless in this car honestly, it's kinda good and bad. It's to keep u from spinning out even though u still do, but not as much, bad is u will get dusted by grandmas in other cars lol. But really 3rd is where the car wakes up. I get about 0-5 psi in 1st I'd say then 5-10 psi in 2nd, then 3rd hits 17-23psi at about 2700rpm

I wouldn't quite say dusted, but you do need to do quite a bit of work to do 1st and 2nd fast; it takes a ton of practice as well. The alternate would be to use some of the TCS black magic Hondata has going on.

Lol I am exaggerating, but yes it is a bit of work and the hondata TCS is amazing, even when its wet out.

Part of me wants to try the Hondata TCS, but the other part feels like it may interfere with any powertrain warranty claims I were to make if something were to come up.

I just tried a few WOT pulls in first and second gear on my way home from work. I saw at least 22psi of boost in both gears according to the boost gauge on the dash. I’m 100% stock. Am I missing something?

Or maybe I am, which is my concern. Did you launch the car, or just rolling the throttle in 1st and 2nd?

Couldn't you just have them flash a cloned ECU so you can reinstall the stock one before taking it for service?

Not a perfect answer, but the car limits your launch to 3500 RPM.

If I'm not mistaken the ECU itself has it's own "odometer" on it so they'll know that the ECU was only run for thousands of miles less than the odometer. It wouldn't work, and would kind of be unethical to do. Granted I'm sure just enabling TCS that actually limits power couldn't damage the powertrain (in the event of a warranty claim), the other stuff it can do can.

are you losing traction during those times?
I haven't been on stock tune for like a year so i don't remember exactly but i believe i saw like 18 lb of boost in 1st and 20+ in 2nd. I was on 265/35 RT-615Ks so i still had traction in 2nd and not just spinning.

I haven't launched the car, so I haven't seen much boost in 1st, but I've seen 18-20 psi in 2nd gear from a slow roll. I don't think the ECU limits boost for traction in this car. Are you in +R with TCS disabled?
