Thoughts on running these year round? Would love to not have to swap tires on the same wheels a couple times a year. We get maybe 1 or 2 single digit days a year, otherwise mainly 20s in winter. They turn into hockey pucks like the stocks?

How about the same tires on stock rims?
they'll be just as great and last longer on stock wheels in 245/30/20 size. stock contis do not have tread wear warranty (something to look for in tires) which means they won't last more than 10k miles vs. ps4s which comes with 300aaa wear rating and 30k tread wear warranty. they stick more, respond better, and last longer than stock contis.

not recommended for below 40-50's degree temp range. they are hi performance summer tires. below 60f they're not effective for grip as we've tested. they need about 160-190f operating temp for best performance so won't get that when temps are in the 20's average where you're at.

I’ve had PS4S on my OEM wheels for about 700 miles now. My impressions are holy shit these tires are amazing. The grip is unreal. They feel better than the Contis did, in dry or in the wet.

They are not cheap by any means but they are completely worth it. Any time no one is in front of me and there’s a corner I rip it and I’ve never felt so alive.

I've driven on PS2, PSS, PS4S and AS3 down to single digit F temps. PSS and PS2 will try to kill you under 25, PS4S just become kind of crappy but you wont find yourself spinning trying to pull away from a redlight at 1100rpm. just be careful to not hit potholes and stuff when its under 25 degrees with them and you'll be fine. if you hit a pothole when its 10 degrees you can actually crack the tire and have a failure. thats true with ANY summer tire even the oem Type R tires tho.

I have 11k miles on PS4S. Very little wear. I expect 30k + miles. (255/40-18)

Currently on AS 3+ as a compromise, is there a massive improvement going with the stock/PS4 rubber on backroads? Ie not track use

It depends on your perspective and driving experience to be honest. Over 170k miles on my WRX, I went back and forth between AS 3+ and RE-11, RE-11A, and RE-71R. The AS3+ tires are great for being all seasons, but I can tell a huge difference between them and a true maximum performance or extreme performance summer tire. The latter will have more grip and just feel sharper, even on backroads.

How do you feel with the performance of the car as far as steering, torque steer, or anything else I may be missing (I'm a noob). I feel like I should be at 20 because that's how they designed and engineered the car.
