Hey guys,

My beater stopped running about a week ago. After taking a look at it I’m not sure if it’s the starter, battery or something else.

I went outside today and played around with it and when trying to start it, it makes the same sound as in Back To The Future when Marty attempts to start the car and after many attempts it eventually it starts.
*Sorry about the reference, but I didn’t think to video the sound*

The same thing happened for me. Every time I turned the key, it made that sound and died down, had to turn the key again and the same thing over and over again until finally it started.

Anyone have an idea of what it could be or has had experience with this issue?

Thanks guys!

I would get your battery checked. Sounds like it’s getting weak on you. Just take it to your nearest auto parts store and let them run a battery test on it. It’s a free test

Thanks for your input. I did do this probably a good 4-6 months ago and it was good, but can’t hurt to have it done again.

Is your post correct? It’s a 2008 or 2018? If it’s a 2008 then it sounds like your starter is going out. Common problem but check out this video and see if it acts like yours:

The post was correct it’s a 2008 and that video you posted was perfect! That’s exactly what my car is doing! I can’t believe I didn’t find that video when I was looking! That’s what I originally thought, but wasn’t sure.
