I like SGP. Would have got it if the SI was available in the color.

Haven't read through the thread, but "hiding dirt" would be #113 on my list of reasons for selecting a certain color.

This guy posted in Nov 2018 so he probably already made his decision but decided not to update the thread. But I will say that LSM is not your ordinary silver color. It's a deeper shade of silver with much more depth to it with a really nice metallic look. The difference is pretty obvious to me because my neighbor has a silver Nissan Murano and the LSM on my Civic looks way different. I honestly love it, it's easy to maintain and looks great.

I have the Lunar Silver which hides the dirt very well. I think the Sonic Grey wont hide dirt as well but I think the Sonic looks better though.

SGP, because it's faster! Kidding aside, it's really an awesome color fading to different shades during the day. Paint color is holding up well and I really don't mind driving it dirty once in a while so to speak.

Having owned a silver vehicle for the last 6+ years, I do want to switch it up, so I'll go be going with Aegean Blue myself. But with owning a silver car, it has been one of the best colors I've owned that always looks clean - even when dirty. If I didn't want to switch it up and go with blue, I probably would get LS. Each one I've seen in person always look like it rolled off the showroom floor. Well..maybe it did :D.
I agree with you about the color and also that I just want something different. I had a Gray Prelude and it was so easy for my OCD to keep clean but after owning a black Mazda3 for 17 years I think I can handle the Sonic Gray Pearl! I do believe it looks better to me although the black SI hides the ugly fake vents much better than any other color!

Definitely look at both of them in person. I had to see the Sonic Gray in person before buying and absolutely fell in love with it. I had been torn between the Polished metal, the silver and sonic gray. And if you look at the SGP car it always looks a little different depending on the lighting/time of day and really has been a crowd-pleaser among my friends and family so far. I had expected some of them to be iffy on the SGP but they all fell in love with it too.

Don't make a decision until you can see them up close. Imo the silver is a nice color but more of a conservative choice. I don't feel like it would hide dirt any better or worse than the SGP.

Thanks very much for your reply. The problem for me is the availability to see a SI in any other color than black. And there is currently only one black SI within 60 miles of me. I was just thinking of ordering one in the color I want because the best price dealer 35 miles away has already sold the black one I drove last week and has another black one coming in March 12.

The lunar silver is so boring of a color imo you won’t even want to bother washing it because it won’t look much different and you won’t have to because it tends to hide dirt ,if it were me I would definitely,no question about it get the sonic gray pearl, you will get satisfaction from washing and waxing it and it will always look nice and bring a smile to your face ,silver is for people who might have a hard time deciding on color so they stay safe with silver imho

I say get the color you like, regardless of it hiding dirt, and commit to washing it regularly. :drive:

Silver never goes dirty. I went away on vacation for two weeks, didn't have time to wash the car when I got back and got comments at work about how clean it looked. Admittedly, I never even remotely off road it but the difference between a fresh wash and a week or two off is a bit of shine. There's a crap ton of pollen over the spring months, and the silver does a good job of hiding it.

SGP is the more unique color, and it looks great. Silver will hide the dust better. Both colors look good, yes silver is a common color but this gen of Civic is styled in a way that I don't think it can look boring. That said, I got silver because the dealer was in a rush to get the 2018 MY off the floor and didn't have any SGP on the lot so it was more or less handed to me. I had the decision made for me, and while I don't have any issue with the silver, I am not sure I would have picked it up over the SGP. I also have space to wash it myself so keeping it clean would never have been a huge deal to me. If you don't, I can see where you start to consider what colors are easiest to clean. I do dig my silver in the end, as common as a color it might be. I don't think you can go wrong with either color.

Damn dude that sucks that you're only finding black cars in your area. Probably the worst color when it comes to keep it clean. If nothing else shows up in your area or close enough to take a drive to then you probably don't have much of a choice than to order in the color you want. It would be pretty cool to take delivery of a car with zero miles on it and you know for sure no knuckle head took it for a WOT test drive lol.

I have been convinced by my daughter to order this SI in Pearl White since it has black wheels and all the black accents. And I will get the windows tinted. It would have been a nice choice in Honda's new Sonic Gray Pearl but not available on the SI.
Thank you everyone for giving me your opinions!
