My borla exhaust is coming Saturday. I’m wanting to do it myself in the garage. I’ve installed an exhaust on my challenger back in the day. My question is:

Anyone do their own exhaust install and find it to be a huge pain in the ass? I really don’t wanna pay someone for something I can do myself. I have a jack and stands. I know each exhaust is different so that might make the process vary but the removal of the stock and concept of install should be same. Give me some honest opinions.

You can do it by yourself. It may take 2-3 hours. Just take your time and have fun with it. If you're changing the front pipe out, that can be a little bit of an issue but nothing too hard.

Just the exhaust. Stock front down pipe. That’s what I like to hear. I’m pretty decent at this type thing was just looking for some reassurance that there weren’t any weird quirks with this car that make it hard without a lift. I’m excited as hell. Thanks for the reassurance.

it's really easy as i've done many s2ks and my18... just sucks if you don't have a friend to help remove hangers and the oe one piece exhaust but it's doable by yourself

Since you're not changing front pipe, it's even easier then! Just lube up the hangers a little bit and you're golden

I installed mine in my garage by myself. It's not that bad of a job. Make sure you have a pair of exhaust hanger pliers (they will make things A LOT easier). Take your time and lower your stock exhaust carefully.

Haha I purchased some hanger pliers. Hangers are super annoying to deal with and I want it to be as easy as possible.

I want to second the hanger pliers.
I just put my exhaust up myself, front pipe and back.
50% of my time was spent on hangers, as I didn’t have the special hanger tool.

Even with the tool I also recommend a penetrant. Makes things even easier! Can’t imagine not having that.

Also a breaker bar will help.

Hanger pliers are gifts from heaven.....
