So if you live in a place where it doesn't really get cold 5W-30 and above is the way to go? Or am I just an idiot
Im not going to recommend anything, but if you have done the research and come to the conclusion I have based on my driving habits and climate and talking to a couple of people much smarter than me in the industry you could switch if you want. Not sure I would go farther than 5w-30 unless you are out road racing and tracking the car, but then in that case, Id be changing the oil after each hard track weekend. But thats just me

I won't say it's "the" way to go... but it is "a" way to go. It's your car and it's up to you what to use. One can always acknowledge the manufacturer's recommendation and then use something different based on what they think is best based on their operating/environmental conditions. That choice is yours to make.

The "0" is cold temperature viscosity, I would think in a cold climate/winter the "0" rating would help with wear on cold starts. The "20" is the viscosity when at operating temp. I would think that in FL one could get away with 5W20 at the very least, since we never have "cold" temps in central FL where I live. However since I change my own oil I use OEM filters (scared of counterfeits on 'Net) and 0W20 with receipts-at least until warranty expired.
The best oil for your car is what's in it, I've always heard said.

I prefer Motul and Redlinei synthetic. I won’t touch that cheap generic stuff. I want only the best for my Honda.
