Anyone ran 245/35 or 255/35 tires instead of the 30 series instead yet?

Yeah I was thinking of going to 245/35/19 since it's identical in size and the speedometer wouldn't be affected. Just don't know what dimensions the new wheels should be.
Just get 19x8.5 That will fit the 245/35/19 perfectly. That's what I did, (see other post).

That set up is almost identical to the stock set. The only difference is the offset on the wheels the NSX wheels would be the best in this option but that’s a lot of cash to throw away.

When my original tires wear out, I am going to go with a set of 245/35/R20 Pirelli P Zeros. Living in Texas, I can get away with a summer tire since we only have 2 weeks of winter. It will have a little bit of extra side wall with the least amount of deviation on the speedometer without going to a different set of wheels.

I just ordered some Kumho ECSTA PS91's(Poor mans Michelin Pilot Super Sport) in 255/35/20. They have them for a steal right now on Amazon for anyone that needs new tires for OEM wheels... $113/tire is pretty cheap.

Less that $500 per set for Ultra High Performance Summer tires is a huge win IMO. This is the cheapest size I could find in this tire so I'm glad it works on the factory FK8 wheels. See TireRack comparison review here...

How have the kumhos held up? Any issues? Thinking of going this route too. Mostly for price point.

Just ordered the Falken Azenis FK510s. Size is 245\35\20. The performance rating is supposed to be close to the Michelin PS4S according to Tirerack.com. I'll see how well they hold up.

I got myself these. I wanted to try out a wider tire. I felt less steering response but the extra grip was definitely there. The tires are quiet compared to the OEM continentals. You don’t get the massive rock and gravel accumulation like the OEM stock tires did. Well worth the expensive price tag to drive around town or the occasional track/canyon run.

Nice. I had PS4S on my previous car, they were excellent, I especially liked the traction on wet roads. You will enjoy the 4s. I recently got the R and abused the stock Conti's by using them in cold weather. I got the flakens as a replacement.

I replaced my original tires with Continental Extreme Contact DWS (all season) 245/35/20. Going from the 30 profile to 35 was the best move I made. I wished I would have bought these tires when I first got the car. The 35 profile is much more forgiving hitting bumps in the road and I do not notice much difference in performance. Plus, I can drive my car any time of the year. I don't have to check to see what the tempertaure is going to be every morning.

Thinking about running the Firehawk Indy 500 or Kumho Ecsta PS91 in 255/35/20. Anyone have thoughts on these? I also saw the Nitto NT01 I believe in the same size. Hoping to keep as much performance as I can compared to the stock Conti's.

You can try any of those out and chime in with your opinions on it. It gives us more insight on choices of brands and models. I am open to less expensive brands if they are just as good as my Michelin’s or atleast close.

I got 245/35ZR19 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ on Flow One F4 (19x8.5, OEM width, 21.25 lbs) tires because the summer tires are stupid living in North Georgia and Western North Carolina. There are no all-season tires produced in the 30 series. I replaced the OEM wheels/tires in the first week of ownership. Spent $2033 for the tire/wheel package. Speedometer is still perfect and car still handles awesomely regardless of the temperature. These Michelin tires are also very good in the rain.

The offset on the Flow One wheels put the tires a few millimeters farther outboard (a good thing, better handling) but the front tires, especially, now throw road gunk on the side of the car and especially in that low kick panel in a big way. I added some Rally Armor splash guards (specific to the Type R) and that has helped a lot. Somehow, Honda does not make a splash guard (mud flap) for the Type R. I can recommend this Rally Armor product as well, well designed and excellent materials.
A few comments:

1) Saying that a different wheel offset is a "good thing" because it "handles better" is a pretty broad and unsubstantiated statement. Among many technical concerns when changing wheel parameters, changing the offset changes the torque steer characteristics significantly, so this particular aspect of handling is negatively affected by this change.

2) What offset Flow Ones do you have? I have yet to see anyone with Flow Ones on a Type R and clear the front brakes.

3) Nitto, Lexani, and Nankang all make All Season tires in 245/30R20

4) I drove my OEM summer tires all winter, and I live in Charlotte, a lot farther north than Doraville. So I guess that makes me stupid.

I have been running the fire hawk Indy 500 in 255/35/20 on the track and on the road. It’s a good performance tire on the road and acceptable on track in the wet and dry.

I am running 255/35 R20 Falken Ziex ze950 tires on the stock rims. No issues with rubbing or clearance. The tires were a budget option to save the stock tires for autocross. I daily drive my car. They are an all season tire. They are okay. Nothing special.
