I don't think he knows what he's doing. He never has

FYI he pulled the strut pins and pushed the struts in and that changed his front toe, so he was trying to get it back to zero. Turning the tie rods by 3 faces(of the hex) moved the toe a lot...

Thanks, I think I understand now. I'll search out a picture of the tie rod assy. (They are on the bottom, right?)

What is everyone doing for their exhausts? Deleted mufflers? Aftermarket cat-back?

While I do like the factory exhaust, but it does weigh a bit much with the 2 massive mufflers. I don't like the prices for aftermarket exhausts($800-1200), but they have my peace of mind that they are not a hackjob, while deleting the mufflers could reduce more weight, but risk being too loud. What route have you'll gone?

Thanks in advance.

Go to a muffler shop and have them saw off the pipe before the mufflers and have them weld new pipe, a new off-the-shelf muffler (maybe smaller and lighter, from Borla or something), and a new tip

If you're uncomfortable with welding in, have them Band-Clamp the new parts on, that way you can swap back and forth with the new and stock parts

I've lost track of what you are doing. Can you please explain?
Front toe. I pulled the pins and added the camber, which gave me toe in, then I adjusted too far to toe out.

Basically, 1 flat on a front tie rod is ~1/32" of total toe.

I don't think he knows what he's doing. He never has
Just listen to this guy and ignore my posts. Aww Snap.

EDIT: @das borgen were you on the OE 18s last weekend?

Yes, I was. I have Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on 235/40/18 .I thought it was gonna rain, so I just ran my daily driver tires

how did you do with those tires?
i am using them as well for my dd and will be using them this year for autox as well due to lack of spouse approved tire budget.

See post 544.

They tolerate a lot of slip and they're really easy to drive. They feel amazing actually under trail braking too. I was genuinely shocked at the feel they give.

Michelin is no slouch. If they made a 200TW tire, I'd blindly go out and buy them. I know BFG is owned by Michelin, to be clear

great job today at Toledo, bro! Good to see you again autocrossing.

I only managed a clean 59.4s to your 58.6s.

I had my first event of the season yesterday. Started off pretty well. Came in 1st in Street Open and 2nd Overall in PAX.

I had tire pressures at 38-39 all around in 45-50 degree cloudy weather. Kind of was just winging it.

Had my first two events in the car last weekend. A few notes:
  • Overall impressed with the capability of the car. Chassis is stable, brakes are great, diff works wonders and feels organic, motor feels much stronger than 200hp, plenty of grip, drives like a lighter, smaller car than it is. Actually much better than I expected all around.
  • Don't think the Whiteline rear bar is enough for me. I was generally unable to summon rotation, even with the rear toe-out. Still want to avoid the Karcepts on a DD, so might try the Eibach Type R bar. There's nothing else bigger out there, right? I don't like jacking up rear pressures and removing grip if I don't have to, are others running big rear psi? Or do these cars just not rotate?
  • Not sure if it was the considerable driver rust from the offseason, or a communication problem, but I had a really difficult time judging braking points and proper turn-in speed. Anyone else struggle with that when moving to this car or do I just suck? I don't remember being so bad at that after hopping in many cars, but I usually don't car hop until mid-season.
Both events were on pretty smooth lots. I played around with sport / no sport, and felt the car was better in slaloms in sport, and better elsewhere on course not in sport. Zero data to back that up, just feel. Does everyone run in Sport only? Does the car actively adjust shock valving to stabilize the chassis?

Only major dislikes are having to put in the cheat code at every start, and running out of 2nd at Toledo Express, though car shifted easily.

Results were actually pretty good at both events despite driver missing apexes by multiple feet, blowing tons of corner entries, and car not rotating enough. I'm pretty excited to see how fast we can be together if we start getting along.

Gratuitous pic of fully loaded front left and inside rear tire still on the ground:

Thanks dude, good seeing you! Now you just need to run PRO-S, Toledo Express battles all year I hope!
