CA legal mods?

Hey guys I've just started learning about mods, and all I see is how everything is illegal in California. Are there any good mods that I can do to my car that ARE LEGAL in CA?

This is a great question considering how much of a annoyance. California can be on modding your car. You can do fuel pumps (ethanol) but it's a pain finding gas stations that some, intake, Downpipe with cats. but these will draw attention from the cops. The best mod you can do for these great cars would be Tuning them with K-Tuner, or Hondata. They give you the best bang for your buck and can keep you low key. Anything other than tuning you'll be drawing attention to yourself from the police and its ends up not being as fun as you thought it'd be.

Hondata has the only CA legal tuning solution. The CARB Flashpro. I had one. It's a nice power bang for the buck mod and CARB compliant.

Personally i don't think the carb version is worth the price. If I'm buying new, tune with the regular version, assuming i keep the car for 5 years, tune it back to stock, get smogged then tune it back.


As for other mods i think exhaust is ok as long as it's under 95db iirc

Tinting wise i always do a light to dark fade, something like 32% front and 20% rear. Knock on wood this is my fourth car with this setup and have not been pulled over.
