i am not sure what you are asking...
flex fuel is the ability to mix any amount of ethanol into your car and having the ecu adjust according to the current ethanol % in your tank.

If you are not running any ethanol, why would you need flex fuel?

Can I turn on the flex fuel in my flash pro and use it with the 94 octane with out buying the flex fuel kit?

Only use the flex fueling if you have the sensor.

no. that is not very smart to do.

whole point of flex fuel is for the ecu to adjust parameters depending on the ethanol content in your tank. If you don't have a sensor, the ecu won't know the content inside the tank.

Absolutely not. The ECU will see a voltage on ECT2 and come up with a random ethanol percentage, and then things will go downhill from there.

But why? There is a 93 octane tune that going to work very well for 94 octane.

@Hondata I already have a flex fuel sensor and Analyzer set up in my FK8. If i'm not mistaken there are 2 wires coming from the ECT2? Which wire do we tap into on the ECT2 sensor from the analyzer output?

The green wire. If you tap into the wire then make sure you unplug the sensor. It is better to get a connector that plugs into the wiring harness (the kits use them).

Thank you sir. I'll inquire with sirimoto and see if they can give a description of the connector. All the pictures I've seen doesn't give quite a clear enough picture of the connector.

Had a question, I just finished installing the flex fuel kit on my fk8, on the flash pro guage it reads 15% ethanol and on the zeitronix it reads 10% ethanol, does anyone know why that is? kinda confused as to why they read differently

Well, I think I know the answer, but I swear the solution has been removed...

Zeitronix is a 0 - 5V range for 0 - 100% Ethanol content. There used to be a table you could adjust for this, but I'll be damned if I can't find it in the latest Hondata FlashPro release (3.3.7.0). Hondata's help page on FK8 ethanol even shows these fields and a different voltage range (0.4 - 4.8):

@Hondata where did this setting go?

I'm freaking out man.... :spaz:Or at least I was. Troubleshooting complete, I can go to sleep now :)

Uninstalled, reinstalled, no difference. Double checked across several iterations of mods, no difference. Tried using non ethanol calibrations and enabling ethanol input, no difference. Freaked out a bit given the upcoming Zeitronix install, no difference. :p Swapped from "Civic Type R 2019-FK8 US" to "Civic Type R 2017-2018 FK8 US" vehicle type and BINGO! So there you have it, 2019 as a vehicle type is bugged in 3.3.7.0

A bit unrelated, but I also noticed that you have to be careful in how you apply mods with regards to the ethanol tune. Applying "Improved Throttle Response" to the Flex Fuel base map completely screws over the elevated torque targets in all the gears. Just a reminder to really look hard and understand the differences that are applied as mods are selected.
