I have this very stupid question.
I have a CAD model civic type r and while i'm reading through the owners manual, there is a section of auto high beams.
I tried the method on the owners manual and it seems to not do anything.
Does type r come with auto high beams cause in the specification page of the type r on Honda home page it says it does have it, or is it just miss information?

I heard for 2019, civic Type R and Si now do come standard with auto high beams. Our 2018 do not

Interesting, "auto high beams". How does that work?

Edit: nvm - found this

I don't think I'll ever use this feature in my '19 CTR hah

My UK 2018 model has them, the camera on the screen is used to switch to high/low.

When you headlights are on does an A show on the beam symbol?

I have it on European Model 2017. It automatically switch from high beam to low beam if you have meeting traffic. Switch it off if you use it manually. Back to automatically if you hold the stick on high beam for 3 sec.

I have never noticed this on my 2018 model, but I also never put the headlights in auto mode either. I will test it out the next time I am out in the sticks after dark. I also have a Broadway mirror clipped on my rear view mirror and I wonder if that is blocking any sensors needed for this.

I am looking in the pdf of the Owner's guide that I downloaded on 11/14/18 (page 23) that says it is for the 2017 Civic Hatch and it does have a section for the Auto High-Beam System, but has an asterisk by it, which says "if equipped" at the bottom of the page. It is also listed in the Owner's Manual pdf (page 186) that I downloaded the same day for the 2017 model as well. The asterisk for it says "not available on all models."

In the pdf for the 2018 Owner's Manual that I downloaded on 3/1/19, it also has the section for the Auto High-Beam System on page 187 with the asterisk of "not available on all models."

Looking at the window sticker from when I bought the car, the only reference I see to headlights are "Auto-On/Off Headlights" for my 2018. :dunno:

You're joking, right?
No, not joking. What is auto head light? The YouTube link I posted above shows using auto-high beams with the same exact switch, perhaps they serve different purposes in different markets

Edit: it looks like the auto head light function is there regardless of market. The question is, if I follow the 40-second auto high beam on/off function, would that enable it in the 2019 CTR. I don't care enough to try, but that's what the Honda YouTube video suggests

Didn't look to see that you have a 2019 CTR. I guess I don't know whether they have it. It seems weird that they would add camera just for that but who knows

That Auto feature is to automatically turn headlights on and off. Not for auto high beams

I’d like to also add to this. I have a 19’ CTR and it does say on the specifications list that auto high beams are included. Yet I can’t seem to get them to enable.

I can see the website code as Honda.ca. Are you in Canada or the USA looking at the wrong site?

Edit: looked at your location Canada so never mind.

Canada Type-R does NOT have auto high beam only auto on headlamps which were standard issue even back in MY17 units.

The auto high beams I believe come if your car has Honda sensing package which isn’t available on any of the current Type-R’s for US or Canadian markets.
