I wanted to make a thread to document the process that I will be going through to resolve the problem with my Type R. A little background information:

After work I got in my car to go to a meet about 40 minutes away. The car started up abnormally with initial RPM's being higher than normal and instantaneously Rev Match System error showed up on the dash. I wasn't sure if it was just a fluke and the car just tossed the error since no other problems have arose since owning the car for 14k miles. Turned the car off and on again and no error everything was normal again. Drove off and made my way to the meet. No errors displayed the entire trip there until i was about to pull into the parking lot and bam Rev Match System error reappears. With no tools or anything on me I decided to just check on the car when I got home. Same thing happened as before where the error code was not there when I started the car up to go home from the meet but this time the error came back much faster as I made it about a quarter of a mile before the error code displayed again. The bad news doesn't stop there.

About halfway home my car decides to toss out 4 more error codes: Hill Start Assist Problem, Brake Hold System Problem, Brake System Problem, Electronic Parking Brake Problem.

One right after the other appeared with no pause in between. That's when I knew something major had to be wrong. Once I got home I didn't want to just jump right in trying to diagnose something when I didn't even know where to start looking so I jumped on the forums. I read a lot of posts about the faulty wire causing the Rev Match System Error/ Emissions System Error and read several posts about resetting the car system by taking the negative off for a few minutes. I also read a post about a guys dash turning into a Christmas tree because of rodents. So with a little bit a knowledge I decided to go take a look under the hood and found two mice nests in two separate locations.

Contacted the dealership and scheduled an appointment. The car threw the following codes:

*PGM-FI*
P0851 Neutral Position Sensor A Circuit Low Voltage
P1708 Neutral Position Sensor B Circuit High Voltage
P0850 Neutral Position Sensor A/B Incorrect Voltage

*ABS*
U3000-49 ECU internal Circuit Failure
C1C22-62 Neutral Sensor Failure (Illegible code, this is what it looked like the tech wrote down)

*Update: Car ended up having zero damage from rodents. The dealership ended up replacing the neutral position sensor and everything seems to be good for now.

Yea its my DD that I park in a garage next to the woods at my apartment complex. Most weekends I don't use the car so it sits for about 2 days and I guess that gave them enough time to hunker down. As for the white fluff I am not too sure where they got it from, there isnt anything in my garage that they could get any sort of fibers from other than the under carpet mater which is grayish in color. My guess is someone is using an adjacent garage space as a storage unit and they transported those materials over with them to build their bed. My only question is, is how small was the mouse sleeping around the dip stick haha
