Saw these on Amazon on the above link and have been considering supplementing my console and foot well lighting scheme with these, and did a search on here to see if anyone has these installed and was surprised to find a complete lack of discussion on them.

It doesn't look too difficult to install and I'm considering just piggy-backing the 12v power and ground wires from the "control box" directly to the foot well lighting I currently have installed (also from Amazon) that appears to have the same "control box" thing and also remote.

Hopefully someone here has these and can chime in with some input. Thanks!

Those are new to me, though I have something very similar that I put in just for one day to see how it looks, mine is sewable EL wire (the sewable part is what makes it come with the tab to push into gaps). Another member here has it in blue. It looks nice at night but pretty clumsy and tacky in the daylight. Maybe the clear kit that you posted wouldn't stand out as much in daylight. The problem is our dash lines where you can tuck it in is broken up so much that you would need run the 5 leads all over the place, I foresee needing to take apart a lot of the dash to run the wires behind. Running it to the doors would be a real pain too, I don't even know if there are gaps in the door pieces to install it. I like the idea, love how it looks at night, but overall I can't commit to a permanent install.

This kit looks even better, a lot more pictures, the install actually looks OK in daylight - https://www.ebay.ca/itm/6x-6in1-RGB...ash=item3643e185a0:g:t50AAOSwIddcIawK&vxp=mtr

Here's how mine looked, hopefully this helps:

Huge thanks for your detailed response! That looks pretty cool but I can see why you didn't leave it there considering the difficulty of professional-looking fitment and how convoluted the installation of the wiring will be, especially having to dismantle the entire dash along with the doors (though I'd probably just skip that). I hope the other member with the blue ones sees this and is willing to share some pictures, as that's the color I'd be going for to match the rest of my scheme.

That eBay link looks like an upgrade over the Amazon one for around the same price, but I was considering the Amazon one since it has the same controller/box as my current foot well lighting so if I were to install it I should be able to use the same controller to activate both simultaneously as long as the control boxes and antennas are right next to each other.

You're welcome, always glad to help. If I remember who the other member is I'll let you know, they have a few pics of their install too. Pretty sure it was in the 500+ page "what did you do to your civic today" thread, I just stumbled across it by chance.
