Sorry if this is an extremely dumb question. I recently installed an injen short ram intake and I'm not sure if the new sound is the intake or the turbo or both. There really isn't a turbo whistle but more of an airy sound.

It's a great sound, I'm just not sure what I'm really hearing.

Your hearing the intake. Make sure your checking your air temps, injen makes the car run like dogshit.

it's intake.. i had injen for 3 months , i dont have any problem with it.
I had both injen CAI, with Injen Intercooler but switched to PRL cobra with PRL Intercooler kit. My gauge display Air temp with similar result between both system.
I have both product and I am more happy with PRL due to better performance gain, however, Injen isnt bad.
reason for me to switch over is going with PRL big turbo kit so I stick all mod with PRL.

Thank you both for pointing out the sound!

And I did a fair amount of research on the Injen before purchase and it seemed to be one of the best options available. I read some horror stories and some success stories, but results seem to really vary.

The one I got is the "self tuning" model and so far has been exactly what I expected.

Pros:
  • Good sound
  • More pull in higher revs
  • Better throttle response
  • I'm getting 40-45mpg on highway (or so the car tells me)
Cons:
  • Slightly lower torque in low revs

That’s the one I had. It left me stranded 2 hours away from home by running super rich. Car would just bog down super hard while trying to give any kind of throttle. Weird part was... I had it on for about a year with no issues and then out of no where it started acting up. That’s why I said they made my car run like dogshit. Switched over to prl cobra cold air and never looked back.

That is weird. Did you do any troubleshooting like checking clamps/fitting for leaks or did you jump straight to the Cobra?

Thanks for the heads up though, I will definitely keep that in mind.

Double checked everything. Nothing was lose. Did some research and others experienced the same thing. Never heard one bad thing about PRL, so i went that route.

Is there a sensor I can easily install to monitor my air temps or boost?

Can you shoot me the link to the exact one you have? I'll def look into it when I've got some extra change. And is it better than Hondata?

The age long debate of ktuner vs flashpro. Lol. Both are essentially the same thing. All depends on preference. I went with ktuner just because of the display screen. I actually had flashpro first and ended up selling it for ktuner.

You can run hondata mobile on your radio, costs like $10, everyone here raves on Ktuner, I prefer Hondata, there's no reason to sell it and trade up, KTuner is a bit more user friendly but you shouldn't be custom tuning unless your an actual tuner
