Anyone install the K&N intake? It looks identical the to AEM except that the heatshield box is a bit smaller and fully blocks off the filter from the rest of the engine. I had a K&N on my S2000 and loved it plus it's a few bucks cheaper than the AEM.

just like the K&N for the s2000, that heatshield box with the seals don't really do much to keep heat out imo.

Heatsoak on the K&N for the S2000 was horrible (I had one then switched to mugen). I don't want to imagine how it is on the FK8.

I agree, I had K&N, Mugen and PWJDM on my S... should have left the Mugen, car hated the PWJDM one and the Mugen def did the job well. When sitting in traffic the bogging from the heat soak was horrible, if I lived in a cold climate at the time or never sat in stop and go So Cal traffic it would have probably been OK, but I was glad to be rid of it when I sold the K&N set up.

I am trying to wait and see what the PRL set up looks like (if they hit their target price of under $500 than it will be a great option IMO), but most likely will end up with the AEM dryflow filter and PRL intake elbow and call it a day

Honestly , The eventuri for the FK8 is by far the best you can get. I have researched it for over a month. Most of them are just heat soak waiting to happen. Actually got 12 HP out of it. And it sounds insane. It isnt Cheap but you get what you pay for. I love it . looks sick when you open the hood

The mishimoto sounds fantastic and Hondata has a 93 baseline tune with the mishimoto ready to go for anyone with the FlashPro.

I don’t expect an intake to add power that is noticeable outside of a dyno... but the sound of it is excellent!!

Can you post a pic of how the extra duct attaches to the front grill area? I can't find a single picture showing how this scoop catches free stream air.

Can’t really take a picture of it without taking it apart but if you look at this diagram you’ll understand. It takes in air just like the stock one but gives you a second inlet to the bottom right . Snaps in the inner fender above your oil lines

was that a before and after dyno from stock to eventuri on the same day/dyno?

Just curious. Only thing I didn't care for on the eventuri was that the inlet from their box is 2.5" vice 3" like the oem and other aftermarket intakes. I know it opens up at the filter, but so does AEM on top of the 3" inlet.

I noticed hondata mentioned eventuri was one of the intakes that seems to need a tune.

For the OP:
As for intakes, I've had aFe and now have AEM. Everyone is going to have their likes/dislikes with what they went with...so it's subjective. Like someone probably mentioned, spend money on hondata or ktuner first for bang/buck.

I like AEM more than the aFe because of the sound lol.

I saw someone mentioned 1500 for the HKS, right now it's is 807 with that module or 552 without module (needs a tune though)...not sure if they are still coming out with the carbon fiber box, if/when they do then yeah, it'll be 1500 most likely (from what I saw on hks japan).

I have seen these drawings, but they don't explain much. So it snaps to the inner fender? I figured it was scooping air from the mesh plastic grill area. I can't picture in my head where this is sitting and how it works. Where does the fresh air come from?

It just dawned on me, after looking back more closely at the drawing, that the scoop is pointing to the left and not forward. Now maybe I can go look under the hood and see how it works.

What threw me off is this pic from Eventuri's site, showing an FK8 with some sort of added opening in the grill area right under and in front of the airbox. But looking more closely at the pic and the drawing, the air opening in the grill is way too low to be the duct shown in the drawing, even if the duct was turned forward.

It pokes into the wheel well on the driver side behind the plastics. The air in that area is away from any of the engine heat.
