I've been back and forth on whether or not I should put wheel spacers on my Sport hatchback. I plan to install some Eibach Pro Kit springs soon, and want to install GarageLine 20mm spacers (front and back) along with it. The question is should I? I commute with my car to work every day at least 60 miles, and have heard that spacers will accelerate wear and tear on wheel bearings and tires. Are spacers going to cause me a lot of problems in the long run?

Also, I notice some people use 25mm on their rear wheels, and 20mm on their front. Is that purely cosmetic?

I ran 20mm Front and 25mm Rear Garageline Spacers. Naturally, from the factory, most FWD cars have a wider track up front VS the rear. If you go with 20mm front/rear the front will always look wider.

By running 20m Front and 25mm Rear, the wheels will look flush.

I see you're in the Bay Area. I'm in South City. Let me know if your interested in buying a lightly used set of 20/25. I have no use for them anymore.

@SI-Raw, Thanks for the explanation about the 20/25mm fitment. I'm very tempted to buy your set, and will send you a PM if I put on spacers. At the moment, I'm just trying to decide whether it'd be a good idea by getting some advice from some people who have used spacers on their wheels for long periods. I commute with my car everyday, and use it for trips, so I don't want to put spacers on if it's going to cause a bunch of issues in the long run.

I had two Nissan 370Z with spacers for a long time. Never had an issue. Now my 2018 Si coupe has 15mm spacers all around and no issues either.

That's good to hear as I have a 20/25 set waiting for me to put on my coupe. I was wondering if there would be any issues but also... "YOLO" (I just died inside a little)

20 or 25mm spacers will not cause your wheel bearings or anything else to fail at any noticeably faster rate. Spacers have a lot of negative stigma online because people cheap out and just slip universals over the studs and leave no thread for the wheels to grip and then you get the youtube videos of wheels poppin' off cars. My favorite are the people who bash spacers but then go get aggressive offset wheels.

I've ran spacers on my cars for ages and I've had a set of 20mm spacers from garageline on my civic now for about a year with no issues. Just torque them, check them when you rotate tires. Call it a day.

i have 20mm all around on a sport touring hatch. im lowered on d2 springs so 2" front and rear. ive had to roll fenders and every now and then still something rubs. especially my right rear. its not often. my alignment is spot on though instead of running negative camber.

do you need to do some trimming behind the wheels to fit the stud in the oem wheels?

Sorry, so SI-raw, the reason you put spacers is to fill the wheel wells?, those sport rims would bolt right on without adapters?, sweet ride!

Yes, they just give the car a wider stance. But after driving around for a few days, I feel like the 20mm/25mm set up is not enough anymore. The 20mm up front looks too "sunken in" IMO. Needs to be pushed out bit further.

I plan to order another pair of 25mm Spacers for the front.

A lot of people like to throw the term "flush" around. I've even seem some people call 15mm flush and 20mm spacers "flush" lol

So I won't use that word anymore, but judging by how nice the 25mm fits in the rear, I definitely need to do 25mm up front.

Anyone out there running 25mm spacers all around on a 2018 Civic EX-T? I got 25mm for the rear and 20mm for the front based on a suggestion from here, but turns out I’ll have to cut my factory studs on the front with the 20mm. I don’t want to do that, but was wondering how it would look with 25mm on the front as opposed to 20mm. Anyone have pics or advice?
