Which models have the automatic high beams? I don't see it mentioned in the the 2018 sedan Owners Guide or Owners Manual so I presume the sedan does not have this feature, unless I missed it.
I didn't know I had them. LoL 2019 Hatchback EX. My 2018 Hatchback EX didn't have it so when I traded it in (separate long story) I didn't think the 2019 had it either. For some reason I didn't think it was part of the Honda Sensing bundle, but some maybe touring level upgrade along with the automatic wipers/etc. We took a long (5.5hrs each way) trip mostly night driving, might have been nice to know I had it but I found out after we got back. LoL

Seems they aren't turned on by default, just like the road departure mitigation system.... The auto high-beam headlights is indicated on the dash by a green headlight symbol with an A inside it which was not on for me. THe RDMS is a button in the lower left of the dash.

For the auto high-beams, by the book:

To disable the system: When the vehicle is on and parked, pull the headlight lever towards you and hold it for 40 seconds. The auto high-beam indicator blinks twice.

To re-enable the system: Pull the headlight lever towards you and hold it for 30 seconds. The auto high-beam indicator blinks once.

To temporarily cancel operation, do either of the following:
• Flash the high beams by moving the lever toward you. Flash the high beams again to resume auto high beam operation.
• Engage high beams by moving the lever into the high beam position. Return the stalk to the low beam position to resume auto high beam operation.

OK, I'm confused. I have a 2018 EX-T Sedan with Sensing, here in the U.S. Am I supposed to have auto-high beams? It doesn't say that anywhere in the manual, that I can find.

I just spelled out how to use them, give it a try. :)

Note: It requires you have the lights in AUTO mode, and that they have been turned on by the system. If you put the lights ON manually it won't work.

On my 2018 EX-L with Sensing I tried to enable and/or disable by pulling the headlight lever towards me for 60 seconds & nothing changed. I tried this a couple times figuring if the system was off it would then turn on, & vice versa. IOW the auto high-beam indicator did not blink, & perhaps the car does not have an auto high-beam indicator.

From reading the postings It seems like it's a hatchback feature. Maybe on Sport models. But I don't recall seeing anyone with a sedan having it. Seems weird some models would have it & not others.

Speaking of not having a feature - why the heck doesn't my car have a compass?

I thought a compass was pretty much a standard feature nowadays. Every rental car I've had for the last 8-10 years has had a compass. Now I have a 2018 EX-L with Sensing and there is no compass. Also don't have a glovebox light.

The car comes with all kinds of power equipment & options, but no compass. I tried to find a suitable aftermarket one & there are some, but none get decent reviews or look clumsy.

All models with Honda Sensing. To enable/disable, pull the lever for a few seconds until the "A" light comes on/goes off.

Only trims equipped with factory navigation have the compass.

Unless I'm stuck in the wilderness, I don't find I need a compass. ;) My last car had one built into the auto dimming mirror which was cool to look at but that's about it.

I tried it again today several times on my 2018 EX-L with Sensing.

It was overcast with very light rain. Turned the Headlamps to Auto but they didn't come on because it was still too light outside. I proceeded to pull back the lever for 60 seconds, more than the 30 or 40 as previously mentioned. Did this a couple times & never saw an "A" appear or any other change in the instrument cluster.

Put the car in the garage & still running. Headlamps on Auto & they came on. Proceeded to pull back the lever for 60 seconds. Again I did this a couple times & no "A" appeared & nothing else changed in the instrument cluster.

Where is the "A" suppose to appear?

The auto high-beam indicator shows up between the exterior lights icon and the fog lights icon on my '19 EX hatch.

Up until 2019, I think only the Touring/Sport Touring trims had the Auto-high beams (I think the Sedan and coupe added it on the touring trim starting 2018) according to a previous post in this thread.

Can someone please confirm?

My CTR is the first manual car I've owned where the cruise control is not cancelled immediately upon pressing the clutch pedal. If the clutch is held in for a few seconds, or if the car is put in neutral and the clutch released, cruise control will cancel. I have a habit of tapping the clutch to cancel cruise that I'm trying to break, but it's kinda neat being able to shift gears and still have cruise active. There are a lot of hills where I live, and it's nice being able to downshift to 5th for a hill and then back to 6th without having the cruise cancel.

I'm assuming it's like this with all manual Civics of this generation, but I only have experience with my CTR.

These images are from my Owners Manual. There is no "A" pictured & the area between the exterior & fog lights is blank. And nothing is listed in the descriptions. Usually when you start a car all the indicator or warning lights momentarily come on as a self test to show that they are working. However when I start the car, none of the indicator dash lights come on that are associated with the exterior lights. I found this unusual.

That being said, if I look closely at the instrument cluster with a flashlight, I can see an "A" between the exterior & fog lights as shown in your picture. It's blacked out, so to speak, & looks like the other indicator lights when they are not on. Honda is apparently using the same basic instrument cluster part in my car as in those that have the automatic feature, they just aren't using all the parts to make it work.

I noticed this the other day when I went to cancel cruise by tapping the clutch and it came right back on. Surprised me.
