Washed doing the 2 bucket method, using Meguiar's super soap. I was having problems with my water hose at home, as a result, some of the soapy water dried before I could rinse it off. It appears to have stained my paint or etched into the clear coat, with a white outline. I tried removing with detailing spray, and the next day tried polish, neither work. What should I do?

I think what you actually experienced was the water spots. It’s not the soap that’s the issue but the water itself. I had the same thing happen to me. I have hard water at my house and obviously you do to. If you want to continue washing your car at home you need to get a car wash filter system to remove the minerals in the water so they don’t stick to your paint. Or you can go to a car wash like I do. A car wash has filtered water. And it’s also good to use a chamois to dry it. Don’t let it dry by itself.

What about water spots on glass. We have hard water where we live. I just washed my car, kept it wet till I was ready to dry it and I left the glass till the end. By the time I got to the glass it was drying with spots. I wasn’t worried at first because I thought glass cleaner would get the spots off. Boy was I wrong. If you look in one direction, you don’t see it, it’s nice and shiny. If you look at it in another direction, all you see is spots across all the glass. My front windshield looks so bad it gives the appearance acid drops have burnt circles into the glass.

Any advice on how to clean this?

Great stuff. They have a heavy duty one too, but for hard water on glass... this is all you need

Aside from clay bars, I try only washing my car in the early morning or late evening. I noticed that when the temp is cooler, it would reduce the chance of water spots on the car. I used to have a 19 red honda accord sport, color was beautiful but the water spots drove me crazy till i changed what time i washed the car
